I thought he was either a speed freak or a coke addict, skinny as he is.

My brother is a as skinny as a tall thin streak of pelican shit and he smokes weed - like most people smoke cigarettes.

Bumming them from friends while swearing he was trying to quit?
That's what i remember of smokers in the Navy....

No way - He has been done for smoke driving, that didn't stop him. He knows if he gets caught for possession, growing or distribution, he WILL be deported back to the UK where he was born, despite living here for over 50 years. That hasn't stopped him either. He thinks it's the be-all and end-all of substances..

My third Navy school had a beer vending machine in the lobby.
When an inspector asked how they kept underage drinkers from buying, the LT proudly pointed to a sticker that said, "No underage drinking!"
...which the inspe tor saw had graffiti on it
"Yeah, right!"
And
"Sure!"

Thus endeth the beer machine....
