I can understand trans-gender. But identifying as a six-year old, be the person T-G or straight, seems to me to be some deep seated emotional, mental health problems.

I think that if transgender identification (normally) happens from a very small subsection of the brain that has been maped to the for the opposite gender then there is no way it is otherwise pathological. Kind of like how the speech, visual and motor sections of the brain are specialized gender identity may have a specialized section in the brain.

However, there may also be transgenders who have that part of the brain in the cisgender mode but have a whole bunch of other stuff going on to make them seem like "hardwired" transgenders. Those folks may need therapy.

If he feels happy acting like a seven year old girl and doesn't insist on getting discount movie tickets and the like to have people lose money accomodating him, then so fucking what? I saw a news report this morning about a guy in Ukraine who wanders around all day every day in a Darth Vader costume. That's kind of cool to me once every few years when a new Star Wars movie comes out and kind of freaky to me the rest of the time. He likes doing it, though, and nothing else matters. Except, of course, when Hayden Christansen comes to town and he gets arrested because he feels obligated to bitchslap the guy a few times for fucking up his idol's backstory.

I suppose it comes down to whether or not it creates some dysfunction. In some senses it can feel like you've lost a huge chunk of your life if you come out as trans when you're older. I sort of skimmed the video, but it seems like she doesn't believe she is a six-year-old child so much as she's going back and enjoying some of those experiences she lost out on in her actual childhood as best she can. She's had a rough go. It seems to be therapeutic.

Well, he had seven kids and a wife, and he left them so he could be a "little girl". So, I suppose you could make the case that he was hurting his family by abandoning them. But other than that, I guess, more power to him, if it makes him feel better.

According to her, she was rejected by her family, after which she attempted suicide twice. I doubt we're going to get the other side of the story, but it is a sadly plausible scenario. We can speculate on whether or not she abandoned her family, or her family abandoned her, or if the truth is somewhere in between, but without facts, what's it worth? If you have those facts, perhaps that's a better way to make a case than mere supposition.

It depends on where you are. She's in Toronto. Ontario seems to be on the verge of revising it's policies, but even under the current standards, I don't believe 'extensive' psychological screening is required.

Probably fine. I don't get the impression from the interview that she harbours delusions about her actual age. She holds a job and seemingly acknowledges the reality of her situation. Being able to play in this role seems to offer her something which I don't particularly understand, but from her comments, it really does seem to be play or a role she's adopted. She interacts with the grand child of her adoptive parents, and they play. At first Stefoknee was eight while the granddaughter seven. When the granddaughter wanted to be the older sister, Stefoknee adopted the role of a six-year-old. It's not like she's asserting some firm identity of actually being six-year-old.

There are 'gatekeepers' to getting certain gender confirming surgeries, and surgeons themselves will often have their own minimum standards before agreeing to operate. Largely they want to be certain that the person in question is sufficiently competent and informed to consent to the operation, and also that their dysphoria is persistent enough to warrant this treatment. Being highly eccentric shouldn't preclude a person in itself.
