No. It is a case of a person thinking they are something special because of her position, and is not beholden to the same rules as the rest of us mere peons. Arrogance and a sense of entitlement because of her position. Not her sex.

You really have to admire the professionalism and restraint of those two cops, who had to deal with an overprotective parent trying to use her political office to bully them. Of course, they were probably thinking about the dashcam running while she was mouthing off at them, realizing that she was in the process of terminating her political career. Had they given in to her demands, the record of that encounter would have had repercussions for their careers.

As for the OP, I think that the thread-starter's reaction to this incident was an excellent example of how people can stereotype women who are in positions of power. Ironically, the irate politician is someone who worked for Hillary Clinton, who was also a victim of that kind of double standard in public perception. Women are not supposed to be assertive bullies. Men--our current President being a prime example--can be assertive and domineering all the time, and a large segment of the public will instinctively react by applauding them. They are supposed to behave that way. Women aren't. So, even though there was nothing on the tape about gender being an issue in this incident, the author of the OP saw the gender of the bully as something that needed to be pointed out.

Ironically, the irate politician is someone who worked for Hillary Clinton, who was also a victim of that kind of double standard in public perception. Women are not supposed to be assertive bullies. Men--our current President being a prime example--can be assertive and domineering all the time, and a large segment of the public will instinctively react by applauding them. They are supposed to behave that way. Women aren't. So, even though there was nothing on the tape about gender being an issue in this incident, the author of the OP saw the gender of the bully as something that needed to be pointed out.
