I don't recall ever saying either of these. How many times in your life have you said, "You're gonna get what's coming to you," or words to that effect?
How many times have you told someone you were gonna kill 'em?

The problem with it having to be a specific person is that threats can be non-specific while still being real. It's a threat to kill executives. She didn't specifically threaten anyone. She simply said, "you people are next". That isn't a terrorist threat. My understanding of the law concerning a terroristic threat is that it must be targeted at a individual. So, if she had said she was going to kill Bill Smith and Bill Smith was the CEO of the insurance company, that could be perceived as a terroristic threat. She was just angry and made a vague comment that "you people are next". I don't think the arrest was reasonable and I hope the charges will soon be dropped. Plus, she has apologized. She obviously wan't planning on killing anyone. She was just upset and yelled out something that should not have been taken so seriously. She could have simply been told to watch her language, so people don't feel threatened, considering the recent murder of the CEO of UHC.What does her reproductive status have to do with anything?Evidently the corporation felt scared and hurt and called the police on this mother of three.
Given that an insurance executive was just murdered in cold blood by a perp using those words, it is not unreasonable that the insurance company people feel threatened by this woman. It's not "corporation" that is scared, it's real flesh and blood people who are part of it that are.The po-po then went and got her and told her she couldn't upset ins. corporations anymore. Anyone who makes ins. corporation scared and hurt will be arrested and charged. So y'all better be nice and say nice things to insurance companies.
If you cut them, do they not bleed?

So who specifically did she threaten? No-one as far as I could tell.
This statute makes it a crime to threaten someone with death or serious bodily injury, either verbally, in writing, or by electronic communication. Violation of this statute can result in felony charges.
It’s Florida so I don’t like her chances.People are labelling everything terrorism today (other than actual terrorism). The alleged threat is too vague to have her convicted by a court (unless the court judge is a crazy one).

What if a white person said that? Seems to me a whole lotta white people said pretty much that. In fact, that was the de facto legal system in large parts of the US.She said "you people are next". Next for what? Next to be killed. No, she did NOT threaten to kill anyone. The problem with it having to be a specific person is that threats can be non-specific while still being real. What if a white person said to a black person he was furious at: "Swinging from a tree. You're gonna be next!" Is this a threat that he should be arrested for? I think a case could be made that this is a threat that is at least worth investigating for criminal violation.
Gramma said, "Speak the truth and shame the Devil!"I should apologize or at least offer a disclaimer: I am feeling an overwhelming amount of grief and anger about the results of the last election and I find that it is really permeating my posts. I do think Im absolutely right but I should probably be less…..you know.
Your feelings are completely understandable. I find what is happening in the US bizarre, and have empathy for those actually living there. It is a horrific thing to happen in any nation.I should apologize or at least offer a disclaimer: I am feeling an overwhelming amount of grief and anger about the results of the last election and I find that it is really permeating my posts.
