I finally decided, two seasons late, that I'd like to start watching Game of Thrones. The problem is that I don't have access to the first two seasons. I don't want to pay for them.

So, would anyone like to tell me what happens in seasons 1 and 2?

There's a couple of pretty good synopses written by a guy named George R. R. Martin. :)

Wiki has a synopsis that's a bit shorter.

You really should watch them.
Stream them free/online from <edit>.
I'd love to but that site appears to be annoying at best and malicious at worst.

OOOOH, I had no idea Mark Addy was in this, and playing a king! Love that guy.

Holy crap, I do have all the seasons available through cable. I just didn't know where to look. Yippeee!

All caught up on episodes. Watching for two days but it feels like weeks. I'm breathless and exhausted and in need of valium.

Brilliant series, just wonderful. :)

Isn't it? I just about got caught up last night, watching 2 of the last 3 episodes. Every time I start thinking of doing something else, the series gets more awesome and sucks me back in.

Oh you need to go back and start at the first episode of season 1! You'll thank me later. :D

edit: pfffth never mind. I completely misread your post. Thought you'd only seen the last few episodes.

Carry on then. :)

Imagine how I felt after having watched the first season then proceeding to read all the currently available books in the span of about a month. It felt like I was lost in that world for years.

I bet! I should get the books, too.

I think Tywin might have been in on his grandson's murder. He and Odella in cahoots?

After all his sanctimony about family first?

He's more smart than sanctimonious. And even family hated that little twat. Cersei was literally the only person on the planet who did not thoroughly loathe him. Plus, he was proving to be a bit hard to control. Tywin is the real power right now and Tommen is a nice, pliable kid, not a powder keg like Joffrey.

However it turns out, I hope to see more interaction between Tywin and Odella.
