George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watch captain acquitted of murder charges in the 2012 shooting death of teenager Trayvon Martin, said Wednesday he is auctioning off the gun used in the shooting.

Yeah, you'd think that "protecting law enforcement officers"-- oh excuse me, "Law Enforcement" -- would be part of our tax-funded responsibilities as a society? So maybe he just means paying some property taxes or some such nonsense.

He doesn't work for a living and probably got a tax exemption due to his traumatic history, so doesn't pay sales tax either. So maybe you are right. He'd give a little of his money to the Government.

Even if it weren't, even if the shooting was black and white self-defense, the guy is selling a gun and advertising that it was a gun he used to kill a person. That is beyond disturbing.
 
The price paid for this gun will be a measure of the sickness of American society.
