Google doodle celebrates a Maoist, anti-American, non-black black separatist

This thread reminds me of the outcry when TIME magazine named Ayatollah Khomeini Man of the Year. The fact the magazine had previously bestowed that title on Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, and Nikita Khrushchev meant nothing. Neither did the fact that the magazine's Man of the Year was chosen on the basis of having the greatest influence on world affairs and/or culture during the previous 12 months. People saw it as an honor and moral judgment, not merely a title denoting a pivotal player on the world stage, or someone who had changed the course of history or revolutionized medicine or done something similarly noteworthy.

What I've always found intriguing is the admiration people have for others when they're unaware of the wrongs committed by them. Don't they realize it's just a matter of time before the truth comes out showing they're more morally questionable than those they condemn?

It's like people want to wait for evidence that someone is a liar and thief before forming a belief that someone is a liar and thief. Smart people just sometimes lack the capacity to form unfounded beliefs. Not me, I got it down baby!

Derec,Why do you care?Have you been harmed by any of the things you post about?Have you lost anything because of affirmative action?
Why do you care?

I'm going to guess that in this case some talk radio host or website like Breitbart told him to be outraged about this Google outrage.

yep

Some people can't get through the day without being angry about something. Some days it is false rape claims, some days black lives matter, and apparently the third Thursday of every month is "look something up on Google and get worked into a tizzy" day.

Do you actually think he, personally, looked it up?

Wrongly called a "civil rights leader". More like "uncivil wrongs" leader.

Google commemorates a very controversial civil-rights figure, Yuri Kochiyama
WaPo said:
In the final years of her life, Kochiyama also expressed admiration for Osama bin Laden. Kochiyama told a reporter with the Los Angeles Indymedia that she considered bin Laden a freedom fighter, akin to Che Guevara, Patrice Lumumba and Fidel Castro.

How the hell does Google choose people to celebrate with their doodles? It's getting ridiculously far-left-wing partisan.
Well it is time to do your duty and boycott Google Derec. Just remember to have the script blocker stop their analytics scripting on websites.

Why do you hate super global mega-corporations? They are just people. They have rights too!

I knew certain people would whine the minute I saw it. I knew Derec's underwear in particular would be all bunched up in his ass about it.

I knew certain people would come into the thread whining about how trivial it was to whine about this.

So you are totally without intelligence.

You could see the trivial nature of whining about this as well.

No, I think he subscribes to a "angry white men" email list. If you subscribe, it gives you a new "outrage" story every morning, so you can be angry and bitter all day long.

I was thinking the same when I was about to respond, but was going with Angry While Male. Though, to his credit, it is a Washington Post article.

Sometimes I wish I had time to be continually outraged, but there's a big beautiful world out there!

Fly away little bird.

I don't think you and others defending this doodle would view it as trivial if Google was honoring somebody on the right-wing.

This pass left-wing radicals get in our society is certainly not a trivial matter.

Of course I personally looked it up. I saw the doodle, didn't know who she was, went to the wiki page, saw that she was all about Marxism, hating America and loving terrorists like Che Guevara and Osama bin Laden.

"I thank Islam for bin Laden"

Okay I'll bite. What lasting major impact will this Google doodle have?
