Sometimes when I feel like getting my blood boiling, I will rewatch this clip:

This was posted in 2012, but I do not know when the actual interview was. It is with conservative religious host Sean Hannity interviewing the president of American Atheists, David Silverman. Wow…wow…there is so much ignorance, hypocrisy, and stupidity. Hannity has so much shit coming out of his mouth that it is amazing that he has not choked on it…a miracle of God, probably.

0:15: Is it just Christians you are against, or also other religions?

Well Sean, did you ever notice how Christianity is the dominant religion in American culture? It is the religion that most impacts our society, our children, our families, our parents, our voters, our laws? Why is it so impossible for people to understand that those of us Americans who are immersed in a particular religion also focus so much of our resources on that particular religion that we are immersed in?

1:12: [In a very condemning and accusatory tone]---You want to insult people, you want to attack them, you want to stick it in their ribs on their holiday, you just want to be rude and narcissistic and mean…

Holy fucking shit. This is coming from Sean Hannity…wow…no way to respond or even parody that…

1:30: But people believe in religion…[therefore, religion should be off limits from public criticism, even when religion is imposed on everybody else.]

We are infringing on their right to impose their beliefs onto us!

2:12: [Referring to closet atheists who accede to the social pressure of Christianity] If they’re allowing people to force them to go, that’s their problem.

Yeah, just like kids who are bullied at school are allowing the bullies to bully them. It is not the bully’s fault, it is the kid’s fault who is bullied.

2:26 [Referring to a large population of Christians actually being closet atheists] “If they’re atheists, and they don’t have the courage of their convictions…”
2:58 If they are that weak that they can have their families pressure them into stating they’re believers when they are not.
3:06 They’re too weak to stand up for their own convictions.

So if an atheist is vocal and public about being an atheist and how it is actually okay to be an atheist, then they are being insulting, mean, and narcisstic. If an atheist remains in the closet instead, then the atheist does not have the “courage of their convictions” and they are weak.

Man, they decide in advance that the atheists are at fault, no matter what the atheists do. If we speak up, we are being insulting. If we shut up, then we do not have the courage of our convictions. Either way, the atheists are the ones that are at fault. Christians should always have privileges and entitlements over us though. How dare we dispute that!

3:37: [Referring to the Big Bang Theory] So where did all of those molecules come together to collide to create universes within universes, the sun, the moon, the stars, the planets, human life, so nothing came out of nothing.

OMG! He is right! That argument is absolute proof that God does exist. How did all of us atheists throughout all of history just manage to overlook that question all this time??? We have just never thought about that before. Admins, you might as well close down this forum, and we can end all atheist and agnostic organizations around the world, as they are moot now. The existence of God has been a much thought about and debated issue throughout man’s history, but we somehow all just never thought about this issue that Hannity just raised as being proof of God. Let’s all go out and worship the god now. Praise Allah (or is that the wrong god?).

It is just not ignorance of people like Hannity, it is also the arrogance. The elitism and entitlements they have been accustomed to as Christians, and any challenge of that is considered a persecution of themselves.

Yes, I've seen this interview before. So much for "fair and balanced." It just reinforces the fact that Faux News is not journalism. He and O'Reilly were both condescending and antagonistic when they didn't like what they heard from certain guests.

My favorite was from O'Reilly:
"Tide comes in, tide goes out ... you can't explain that!"
Um ... yes, Bill, we fucking can, you moron!

I have no desire to watch this. Hannity is quite possibly the dumbest of all the conservative propagandists alternative fact distributors.

It gave birth to a lot of funny spoofs, though:

"Bread goes in, toast comes out... you can't explain that!"
