I had CoVID-19 in the middle of February of this year. I caught it from my brother who lives in Seattle who came to Atlanta to help drive my wife and I to Daupin Island for a vacation.
This was when Trump was saying that it was a hoax by the Democrats to defeat him in November. That it was well under control in the US, it was just like the seasonal flu, and it would disappear with the hot weather. All of which was wrong and were lies based on what was known about the disease at the time.
I was seriously ill from the disease, this is not just a seasonal flu. It was mid-July before I felt fully recovered from the disease. I had extremely painful lungs lungs and poor kidney function, along with a hacking, persistent cough, which lasted for nearly 3 months. I have my own respirator, a cough assist machine, like a vacuum cleaner for your lungs, a full hospital bed that can be turned head-down to let gravity help me clear my lungs, and I employ two nurses normally to be with me eight hours a day, seven days a week who went to working twelve hour shifts to give me 24-hour, seven days a week coverage while I was sick.
I am almost seveny years old, overweight and I had ALS for more than thirteen years but I have good cardiovascular health and still have more working lung capacity than the average man, and this is what ALS takes away from people who have the disease.
Had I died I wouldn't have been counted as a COVID-19 death and I was only counted as having had the disease because I took the antibody test to see if I could donate antibodies in my plasma, I am AB+, the universal plasma donor blood type. I couldn't because I have ALS, and they don't know what causes it.
