Coal Chamber has a new album out, only a decade after Dez likened the band to fourth graders, and vowed they would never reform again. I'm glad to see them back, especially since their reforming has no impact on DevilDriver. The sound of the band has evolved somewhat, Dez's signature rounds/chanted vocals from the previous Coal Chamber albums (and the first DevilDriver album), are seriously scaled back, and only feature prominently in a few of the songs. All in all, it's a pretty good effort, but I can't help feeling that Coal Chamber breaking up and allowing Dez to concentrate on DevilDriver was the best thing that could have happened at the time.
