How should west respond to potential (likely) Russian invasion of Ukraine?

Who is the expansionist? I see NATO as the expansionist.
Please show one border that NATO has re-drawn.
ONE, Aupy.
Expansion REQUIRES it. If you can’t show that, your assertion that NATO is expansionist is a fib.
You might as well assert that every example of different governments signing co-operation agreements is “expansionist”.

It’s an untruth, Aupy. I doubt that you’ll even try to defend it, since it’s not even your untruth, you’re just parroting.

Expansion of influence/facilities is not occupation.
Duh. Nobody is prohibiting Russia or China from expanding their influence. Doing it militarily violates international law.
Invading a country, destroying its infrastructure, murdering its citizens and planting your flag in their soil is NOT “expansion of influence”. You and Modi would be horrified if equal ”influence” was meted out to Russia.

Y’all are hypocrites.
Show me ONE border that NATO has re-drawn.

NATO is ringing Russia like China is ringing India. (and sure, it increases our anxiety).
Expansion of influence/facilities is not occupation. But it is as dangerous as occupation for the adversary.
Then why be adversaries? If Russia ceased its imperialism of other countries and quit threatening the world with nuclear war, there would be no need to be adversaries.

And why did Hitler shoot himself in the head in a bunker? The Russian Hitler has similarly burned all his bridges. His course of action in Ukraine and globally is his only option at this point unless he picks up that pistol. He's living out his KGB life, murdering individuals and killing thousands more. For some reason aupy admires this behavior. Can't say why.

Russian dying in droves.

......
Anton Andreev, a Russian soldier from the fifth company of the 1009th regiment, painted a bleak picture of Russia’s offensive in the Ukrainian northern region of Kharkiv.

His unit had been decimated, he said, with only 12 out of 100 soldiers still alive as they came under constant Ukrainian fire and drones in Vovchansk, a prime target of Russia’s advances.
“They just chop us up. We are sent under machine guns, under drones in daylight, like meat. And commanders just shout ‘forward and forward’,” Andreev said in a video message.

Sure, Jan! Everything you don’t like is Nazi propaganda or a fabrication!

Where is the video? with identity confirmation?
Where is it?

This is the same garbage ukrainian propaganda was feeding you from the day one with all these Ghost of Kiev and grandmas with pickle jars. It's ukrainian nazi scam propaganda garbage.

Has Ukro-Junta apologized for Ghost of Kiev lie?
Has Ukro-Junta apologized for "russian soldiers rape old women" lie?
Has Ukro-Junta apologized for obvious lies about who bombed what?

If not, then why do you believe anything they say?
they are scum who need to exterminated after war is over and Russia controls all of Ukraine. They all need to be hunted down and eventually executed. This war is a product of their lies.

He has been consistently right and ALWAYS back up his claims.
Was he the one who convinced you that the invasion of Ukraine would be over in a week or two?
Tom
A week or two? I thought it was going to be a long weekend! Russia was going to start their "special military operation" on a Thursday and all the troops would be home in time for supper on Sunday!

Weird how that didn't work out as planned...

According to Russia, there are no "Ukrainian people."
They might be right. There was one Ukrainian guy who worked at a restaurant in town here a few years ago, but since then I haven't seen ANY Ukrainians.

Is this also fake and conspiracy theory?
Or NYT became Russian stooges?
Thanks for posting that. Quotes from it:

Today, even with hundreds of thousands dead and wounded, Moscow and Kyiv appear further from peace than at any other time since the full-scale invasion. On Friday, Mr. Putin said Russia would agree to a ceasefire only if Ukraine handed over four regions the Kremlin has declared part of Russia and dropped its NATO aspirations. It was essentially a demand for capitulation, which the Ukrainian government immediately denounced.

Russia initially wanted Ukraine to recognize Crimea as part of Russia.

“Ukraine recognizes the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol as an integral part (subjects) of the Russian Federation and, in this regard, shall make comprehensive changes to the national legislation.”

By April 15, both sides agreed to exclude Crimea from their treaty — leaving it under Russian occupation but without Ukraine recognizing it.

“Paragraph 1 of Article 2 and Articles 4, 5 and 11 of this Treaty shall not apply to Crimea and Sevastopol.”
An examination of the documents shows that the two sides clashed over issues including weapons levels, the terms of Ukraine’s potential membership in the European Union, and specific Ukrainian laws on language and culture that Russia wanted repealed. Ukraine’s negotiators offered to forgo NATO membership, and to accept Russian occupation of parts of their territory. But they refused to recognize Russian sovereignty over them.

Ukraine proposed never joining NATO or other alliances.

“Ukraine does not join any military alliances, does not deploy foreign military bases and contingents …”

Russia demanded that Ukraine make Russian an official language.

“Ukraine, within 30 (thirty) days after signing this Treaty, shall remove all restrictions on the use of the Russian language in any area in accordance with Annex 2.”
Russia, stunned by the fierce resistance Ukraine was putting up, seemed open to such a deal, but eventually balked at its critical component: an arrangement binding other countries to come to Ukraine’s defense if it were ever attacked again.

At the time, little about these peace negotiations was known, and what has leaked out in the two years since has been shoehorned into wartime talking points by each side. Mr. Putin contends the West pressured Ukraine to reject a peace deal; Ukraine's Foreign Ministry says that “if Russia wanted peace in 2022, why had it attacked Ukraine in the first place?”
Capitulation, capitulation, capitulation to Russia.
