How should west respond to potential (likely) Russian invasion of Ukraine?

Going forward, if Ukraine cannot defend its civilian population from drone attacks, Zelensky will have to throw in the towel.
I couldn't disagree more.

Attacks directed at civillian populations have always made surrender less likely.

There's been a belief, amongst Generals and politicians, at least since the Great War, that the opposite is true, but it has never yet been demonstrated to be the case.

The Zeppelin raids of the Great War hardened British resolve; The Blitz did the same, as did the RAF and USAAF bombings of German cities to the resolve of the German people. In Vietnam, US targetting of the South Vietnamese civilian population to "root out" the VC just made more of the VC, and in Gaza right now, the most effective Hamas recruitment campaign is the actions of the IDF.

You can't bomb people into liking you.
Yes but Russia has been bombing Ukrainian civilians for better than two years now. Have we seen all the Ukrainian people have in them? I sure hope not. I also wonder if Trump will go so far as to put economic pressure on EU countries that would want to help Ukraine continue the fight.

First of all, Russia does not attack civilian population. Second of all, you don't get the "economics" of this war.
Elensky and his goons on all levels are profiting from stealing money you send to them. And even if Elensky suddenly gets some kind of conscience , he would not be able to stop it, he would be terminated by the people who are making money.
These people know that they are getting out of Ukraine to Western Europe with tons of euros/dollars.

You oughta be ashamed of yourself.

If Ukraine is forced to take a deal to stop the war.
Don.t you think there will be a resistance?
Years of snipers and IED's against every Russian there.

I would assume an island with no extradition treaty would be the better option. Why are they suffering in Ukraine still, if they have their alleged tens of millions already?
Greed has no limits, you know that. And lower level goons don't have tens of millions.
Generally we are writing checks and depositing them to the munitions producers in the US.

LOL, OK.

No, you should be. Russian army unlike terrorist nazi regime you installed does not attack civilians. That's just a fact.

Trump seems to get most of his news from alt-right sources.
Ummm no... this is direction from the Kremlin.
The same sources Barbos seems to be reading. I don't think it's so much that Trump is insane, as just trusting the wrong sources.
You don't seem to get it... Putin owns Trump. We aren't certain why or how, but once Manafort got into the race in 2016, things changed. And Trump is beholden to Putin and Putin's interests.

I think this is conspiracy theory nonsense.

I think its way simpler. Russia figured out early how to manipulate Facebook to spread pro Russian propaganda. Since its a dictatorship they can do that unhindered. Democratic government can't, for ethical reasons. We still haven't figured out, (culturaly) a way to mitigate that effect.

I think its just that.

Its similar to how the printing press led to to witch burnings. No conspiracy needed. It was simply new technology impacting a carefully balanced social system. With a disastrous result.

I don't think Trump is insane. I think his problem is that he's an inane simpleton. An idiot.
The word is "compromised". His statements on Zelensky are just mind blowing in how unprecedented they are.

How is he compromised? What could Putin possibly have on Trump that he hasn't already survived politicaly or privately? Remember, this is Trump's second term. He can't be reelected. He can wtf he wants this time around.

I think that the idea that Putin has any power, (other than Putin's sweet loving words) over Trump is dumb.

Trump has always been a slavophile and russophile. There's nothing wrong about that. Eastern Europe is awesome.

Ukraine is an ex Soviet country, and Russia is a brutal dictatorship. I think they'll get in line real fucking fast.

USA can force Zelensky to take a deal. Without US arms and weapons Ukraine has nothing against Russia. The Ukraine war is essentially a proxy war between USA and Russia.

I am extremely disappointed over how pathetic European support has been to Ukraine.

The fact that European countries are letting USA fight this, pretty much, alone (on their behalf) is an excellent reason for USA to pull out now. While I think Trump is an idiot, he's not wrong about this

Jeffrey Sacks debates deluded idiot who might as well be someone from the gang on this forum:

That was the coversation I posted about earlier. Sachs was full of shit and Duss exposed it. Sacs said Yanukovich was "neutral" in regards to the west or Russia. We all know that's bullshit. How anyone can view that and not conclude Sachs is a Russian stooge is incomprehensible.

Anyone that says Yanucovich was neutral outs themself immediately as a lying sack of shit. So sick of these assholes and their apologists and the bots and trolls and nonstop propaganda.

Sachs was absolutely correct about Yanukovich. Even following nazi regime in Kiev admitted that about Yanukovich.
Duss is a complete degenerate who repeats self-contradicting garbage from MSM.
