How should west respond to potential (likely) Russian invasion of Ukraine?

I think you mean that you hope not
I mean what I wrote.
The "plan" was written by people who had just realized that Elensky had been lying to them about their successes in repelling russian hordes.

The "plan" was written by Putin! He gave it to Trump. Trump dutifully gave it to Zelensky like a good dog. Now Utin is rejecting the plan that he composed. It's a charade to fool the foolish. Russia wants war. Period. I've been saying this since day one. No amount of compromise will satisfy the Russians. Ukraine is just the first country. More will come.
Putin has already said that he does not like that plan but if Kiev Regime signs on it he is willing to work on it.
He is playing along, understanding that Elensky gang will refuse to sign it.
You are clearly incapable of learning anything.
The plan is utter shit.

Agreed. Utin will violate the plan within 6 months. Any plan that limits Ukraine right to defensive weapons will incite the imperialists.

My reading of this peace proposal is Ukraine admitting defeat. Does anyone disagree?

Yep. And if Ukraine accepts this agreement, Russia will reinvade again in 6 months. And Ukraine will be in a weaker position then.

That's not guaranteed. This peace will make Ukraine a vassal of Russia again. As long as Ukraine plays ball and obeys Russia from now on they won't get invaded again.

But it's extremely bad news for the Baltic states. I think they're next

It's nearly guarantied. The reason why Russia wants Ukrainian soldiers to abandon their posts in the Donbass is because these are the most heavily fortified areas. They pull out of their most defensible positions, then reduce their military in half, cut munitions in half; Russia rebuilds their army, then it's clear sailing to Kyiv. And yes, Baltics are next, then Poland. More will follow.

The Baltic states and Poland are part of NATO. Attacks on them mean World War III.

The Ukraine should never voluntarily surrender Donbas.

Nazi Russia can rebuild their army all they want, but they are not going to take on NATO. Nazi Russia’s utter debacle in Ukraine shows what a paper tiger they are. I doubt even most of their nukes work.

Hitler would have been proud of Nazifying Russia.

One thing we can be assured of, the Russian armed forces will become corrupt and hollowed out soon enough and no match for an army half its size.
It’s not even a match for an army a tenth it’s size.
It’s amazing what you can do with a hundred million expendable bodies.
