Well... its a bullshit war of agression. They don't need to hurt Russia that much. Just enough to make them lose interest.

Today drones are so cheap that defence against them is prohibitively expensive. Just like Russia ihas been doing to Ukraine, Ukraine is now doing to Russia.

Nah. Russia has lots of nukes, but Putin knows damn well that if he tries to use them, there's a good chance they won't work, and if they do work, he, his family, his friends (if he has any), and the rest of the inhabitants of the Kremlin and the inner suburbs of Moscow, will be a trace contaminant in a pool of radioactive glass within the hour.

He's not going to use them just because his army gets pushed out of the occupied parts of Ukraine.

And everyone's getting bored of the empty threat that gets trotted out at every reverse. If you are losing, nukes will just make you much bigger losers (and historical and international pariahs on a level currently only enjoyed by the Third Reich).

I think a bigger worry for Putin is that if he choses to fire them the chances are good the army will refuse and swiftly remove him.

It's been confirmed that under Jeltzyn there was a conspiracy among Russian nuclear command that if Jeltzyn would have ordered it, they would have said no. Because they thought Jeltzyn was a loose cannon (with a drinking problem). Putin must surely be aware of this.

Any army is not a blind tool. If they don't feel aligned with the government, the government will be toppled.

They offered a peace deal to your side yesterday: full peace, freeze the lines where they are, no nato for Ukraine, sanctions taken off. Accept the peace, and Russians and Ukrainians stop dying; and you get your shitty new Trump Tower in Moscow. Your side rejected it.

The biggest obstacles to striking EU is not the army but the fact the Russian "elite" has all their children and bunch of of their property in EU.
EU scum of course knows that and it was part of their original plan of overthrowing Putin. They thought that oligarchs and the rest of the "elite" would revolt. It did not happen, but at least it prevents striking ..... for now.
In any case, Kiev regime people have priority when it comes to escalation, and so far they have been safe.
If I was the president of Russia I would have exterminated Kiev Regime people including Elensky long time ago.

You can't win. Putin position in Russia is quite safe.
Economy is the only thing which can cause problems for Putin and all your sanctions have utterly failed.
Russia is not even that dependent on oil revenue anymore.
it's only 20% of Russian government revenue. It was 50% in the 2010s
