Fuck that orange baboon! We should move to eliminate daylight savings time and never move the clock an hour forward as opposed to keeping it always an hour forward. We all need to oppose this dictatorial and racist act on Trump's part because it's something the Nazis would have done!
 
This proposal does not go too far enough!

I say abolish time zones and just have 12:00pm be whenever local solar noon occurs. For example, 1:47pm in Atlanta today should really be noon.

Given GPS, it should be very easy for our phones and other gadgets to adjust the local time as we move around.

I’d rather that this not be the one thing the broken clock is right on. Isn’t there something more important he could be sensible about?
 
I propose an entirely new and beneficial time standard -- Trump Time. Say, 15 to 20 in Lewisburg. Restrictions on golf time. No porn. And no damn tweeting.

Or why not make it 12 noon all day everywhere? Imagine the solar power we'll be able to generate.

My vote is to do away with DST all together. I am an early morning person. I hate that it doesn't get light here now until 8Am and in the summer, when I go to bed around 9:30, it's still light outside. I'm like a bird. Up at dawn and to bed after sunset. I want to be a Free Bird and not have to deal with DST! It never should have been started in the first place. It was supposed to save on power but it's actually now causing more power to be used, at least that what the article that I read yesterday said.

There are kids in my neighborhood waiting for school buses in the dark. That ain't right! Please, think of the children. :D

One should also consider the poor kids in Thunder Bay, Ontario, where the sun now rises at 8:15! (although apparently, only a half hour after Akron)

DST, no DST, whatever time zone you are in, and whether or not you change your clocks a couple of times a year, none of that shit causes any serious issues for anyone. What DOES cause serious issues is when changes of any kind are made to the system.

For fuck's sake, someone tie up all the politicians and stop the useless bastards from meddling with this.

Pick a system, and fucking stick with it.

Every single time any place in the world changes the date(s) or the existence of DST, it breaks thousands of computer systems that rely on accurate translation between local time and UTC for security timestamps.

Sure, the system is a shitty mess. But that's not something that's ever going to stop being the case. So just fucking stop fiddling with it.

It would be pretty easy to do away with it. My home state of AZ has never had DST, and it's one of the things I love about it.

All time zone and DST systems are equally bad. What is worse than any is changing all the fucking time. That's not a declaration that ALL change is bad. But changing the DST rules IS.

There's nothing inconsistent about my rant, other than your interpretations of it.

Yes,it would be very easy to make all kinds of changes. But doing so will fuck up people who have zero input into these easy but futile changes.

Just because it's easy to do, doesn't imply that it's useful, valuable, or easy for everyone affected to cope with.

I don't give a shit what rules are settled upon; But for fuck sake settle on a set, and stop farting about with it.
 
Just keep the clocks the way they are right now all year long.

Very easy to do nothing.
