No, it isn't. Single parents can be just as good as the best couples, and couples can be up to twice as bad as the worst single parents.

There are no definitively better or worse family structures. What matters is the amount of love and care, not the number, gender, or legal relationship status of the parent(s) or guardian(s).

I just want to say one thing that none of you have mentioned or seem to even know. I've worked with numerous black and white women that were raising their children without a reliable father in the home. The one thing they all had in common was poverty. Since there is a lot more poverty among black folks than there is among white folks, it makes sense that there would be more fatherless black families than white families.

Instead of making silly arguments about fatherless black families, why not discuss poverty? Decades ago, it was much easier for young black men to find decent paying jobs, even without a college education. All of the older black women that I am friends with, are or were married. They raised children as couples. So what has changed? When I worked as a home health nurse, most of my older black patients were or had been married. We live in different times. What has changed?

And, I will add that people aren't marrying or engaging in long term relationships like they did in times past. Why is that?

I did not say that. It is what others (including the people in the youtube) have said. I personally believe they are right but I don't know everything either. But the reason I think they are right is that the data shows us they are right. The colleges entrance exams show that scores of Chinese are above blacks consistently. Whites are somewhere in between.
