Serious query to religionists -- if we are made 'in God's image', and if we already know that God is male -- excuse me, there should be quotes around "know" -- then there are several sensible questions about God that can only be cleared up by the churches that have the ongoing power of revelation. That brings in Catholics, JWs, Mormons, at least.
1) What race is God? I know he started three big religions in the Near East, but that doesn't absolutely prove that he self-identifies as Semitic. I mean, would Franklin Graham approve? I lack the power of prophecy/revelation, so call this wishful thinking, but I think God is Inuit. I have only one reason for this, and it's to picture my born-again cousins having to unpack their ulus and slice up big juicy slabs of muktuk for Easter dinner. (Also, if he was Inuit, then the born-agains might possibly want to do more about the melting ice in the Arctic. Just thought of that.)
2) God is male -- established "fact". Is he circumcised? Did he do it to himself, like Abraham? Did his foreskin become part of creation? Again, just a hunch, but I think God's foreskin became Texas. This would not only explain their douchey politics, but it would account for Fort Hood.
I realize the faithful don't ordinarily take up challenges from the atheist side, but I really think you would have a stronger narrative if you filled in some gaps.

Since all humans are created in God's likeness then God is all races combined.

That must be what's called alternative logic. It would be simpler to just make the argument that God doesn't have a race and/or gender.

I gotta think arguing against religious thought with rational argument does just as much to validate religion, as it does invalidate it. If religion is worthy enough for debate there must be something to it.

Realistically, the only argument organised religion deserves is 'there is literally no rational argument for the existence of Christianity, so you should just stop'. If that doesn't work, the person's got to work shit out for themselves.

God is also a giant queer hermaphrodite dwarf with rainbow-coloured eyes and hair, who barracks for every team in every league in every sport (which is why praying for victory works about as well as not praying).

Since all gods are human constructs/inventions then each believer can project whatever they want upon them.

Tell us what you project upon your set of imaginary sky fairies.

All gods are human constructs?
LOL
Says you.

In that case, arent you just another human trying to 'construct' your own rules about God(s)?

No, he has just opted out of that pointless game.

All gods are created by humans, but that doesn't imply that all humans care to create a god or gods.

That you routinely make such fundamental blunders in logic, and so frequently invert causality, goes a long way towards understanding why it is that you believe a lot of patently untrue nonsense.

Until you start to think things through, rather than simply reacting on an emotional level, you are inevitably going to keep making a fool of yourself.

Atheism is a human 'construct'.
The invented idea that God isn't real.

See that sdelsolray?
I can play the same card as you.

Did you not just read what Bilby wrote on the other page? I think you lack logical functions?

This is one of those questions that makes god so infinitesimally small as to cause quite a bit of doubt if you think about it with any depth. God (Yahweh) was described at one time as male, married, etc. just like so many other gods that people no longer believe in. Whenever we discuss the physical attributes of God, I find that "made in his image" suddenly becomes incredibly nebulous, even more so than usual.

Yeah. I study every one of zir posts very carefully.

You're an idiot Lion IRC. blah blah blah. Everyone thinks you're a fool. blah blah blah. Moron. blah blah blah. What an imbecile. blah blah blah. No wonder you're so dumb you probably flunked 1st grade. blah blah blah.....

I'm humbled to be allowed to share the same forum as a person with such brilliant 'logic'.
How lucky for me that zhe has the time to spare posting at me.

...

Yes it is, although I prefer the term "conclusion" instead of "invented idea". It's a bit more accurate.

You play with a different deck, with different cards. Therefore, you are not able to "play the same card" as I did.
