If only souls had a brain

I can't understand what a soul is supposed to do that a brain doesn't already do, other than being eternal.
Every bit of our brain is eternal. I challenge anyone to make any part of it cease to be.

Maybe the way to think about the soul is to see it as your immaterial superbrain, your ghost brain. It's batshit crazy, of course, to engage in such pronounced woo but if you're going to toe the immaterial/supernatural/philosophical/religious line it isn't a bad way to frame the idea. Given people's affinity for supernaturalism/dualism everything natural must have a supernatural counterpart. Ghosts are supernatural people. Your soul is your supernatural brain. WRT supernaturalism, no explanations are ever necessary as it is a realm of magic, the indemonstrable and unprovable, and so all tales go.

Believing you have a soul is also your ultimate life insurance policy, your shield in a world that can at times be a motherfucking hell. Having a soul makes you safe from all harm.
