So what do you think that white object is that is bouncing off behind and to the right (our left) of the catcher?

Randi Johnson hit that bird on March 24, 2001. If he had not, there would have been no shortage of spectators who watched that game in the park or live on television who would have commented on the fakery by now. As it turned out, the umpire ruled the delivery a no pitch.

Birds have unfortunate encounters during cricket matches on a regular basis.

The ball deflects off of the bird. You can see the bird continue to move (hobble in the air) after the impact. It does ‘look’ fake, but if it was, it is a great fake.

Yeah, the ball otherwise would’ve gone into the catcher's glove. This is a well known incident by one of the greatest pitchers ever, Randy Johnson. No wonder the bird exploded. It was ruled a "no pitch" by the umpire and is now the classic example of a no pitch.

PETA actually considered filing charges against him.
