Kelly Loeffler Slammed for Posing With Former KKK Leader Ahead of Georgia Runoff Elections

Georgia Senator Kelly Loeffler was criticized Saturday and Sunday for posing beside a former KKK leader, with less than a month before two runoff elections in the state that will determine which party controls the U.S. Senate.

The picture shows Loeffler smiling beside ring-wing activist Chester Doles. It was reportedly posted to Doles' social media on Saturday with the caption "Kelly Loeffler and I. Save America, stop Socialism."

Doles, who was a leader in the Ku Klux Klan, is a convicted felon with ties to several white supremacist groups, although he claims his current "American Patriots USA" group is free of racism.

I was going to post this in the thread I started about our election in Georgia, but I decided it really was a nothing burger. I can't stand Loeffler, but I believe she was probably telling the truth when she said she didn't know the man who she posed with. For fuck's sake, politicians pose with people all the time who they don't know. There are so many good reasons not to vote for this corrupt woman, and she may very well have racist tendencies for all I know, but I don't think any politician should be judged because they posed with an awful person who they probably didn't know very well, if at all

Does anyone have evidence that she really knew who this guy was? If you have actual evidence that Loeffler knew who this man way, please show it. I haven't been able to find any. I thought we were all the kind of people who were skeptical unless there was evidence to support a claim.

I don't think we should judge people on who they pose with at a rally when there is no evidence that the person knew who the person. Biden has often been criticized unfairly for shit like this. I don't like double standards. There are plenty of reasons to criticize Loeffler without making a big deal out of something that appears very trivial. But, I guess that's what has happened to American politics. Every little misstep becomes huge. Every misspoken word becomes an epistle.

I voted for the two Dems by absentee ballot. I'm not really fond of either of them, but I'd like to see the Dems control the Senate. I'm sure there are plenty of Republicans who will vote for the two Republicans, regardless of whether they like their character, for the same reason that I voted for the two Dems.
