Laura Ingraham vs David Hogg

I wouldn't go so far as to say it's my ONLY point. It's complex in that one truth people readily accept doesn't negate other truths not as well accepted.

What do people want when they can't get what they want?

I wanted a drivers license, and I didn't want to take any test to get one, yet there I was being asked what I wanted: to take the test. I don't think pain, hurt, and suffering is what's in the hearts of liberals, but let them not get what they want and the very thing they seek and become excited over even ... is what?

Why don't you tell me and we'll see what's in your heart?
She made a distasteful comment. No harmfully physical attack with scarring detectable by machines. How many millions of dollars should the ramifications be? It depends on what kind of person you are.
She attacked a kid within the routine context of her job. Most people who make repeated and costly mistakes at their job lose it eventually. You keep referring to the dollar amount of the penalty as if that's commensurate with the amount of morality we need to extend a person. It's not. She lost 100% of her income. Same as anyone who loses their job.

or an entire diatribe about how we are all seemingly complicit in the downfall of a wealthy mouthpiece when we choose to act rather than speak.
When a child opens his mouth and spills filth at grandma's house, there is or is not going to be an aftermath of substantial proportions ... it depends not on the child but the character of the adults.

Complicit, eh. I've tried to steer clear of using words like "blame." I've preferred a more neutral causal feel. The people making the decisions to not buy from Bayer can look back and blame the host for the words she chose to use, but we can't flip flop about and talk of expectations when the decision squarely rests on the people acting as they do, just as which grandmothers of the world will choose a course of action over others when dealing with a child's misbehavior.

You are right, we do put more scrutiny on adults who should know better than kids. Remind me in this Ingraham case which is the adult and which is the attacker?

Meanwhile, even though Ingraham is on vacation, she is still losing advertisers. Smirk! Smirk! So next week she has to get back on air and somehow, make nice with everybody, or at least, not get ugly and stir up the boycotters again. She is going to be on a short leash and every word she says, or tweets, will be scrutinized heavily. She is going to have to learn to be civil, even if she doesn't naturally lean that way. Isn't reality a bitch? Nothing says "Fuck you!" like a successful boycott.

The real issue is a society that has many people that find her words somehow interesting enough to listen to her.

A sick deranged society that boycotts won't fix.

Apparently, there are stirrings of a general boycott against Fox, promoted among others by Move on. Aimed at Fox and recruiting the newly awakened womens' movement. This could be getting interesting.

Meanwhile Ingraham is back and now has lost 21 advertisers. And not having learned her lesson is shrieking about Stalinism. This was an object lesson in being civil. She still hasn't understood the lesson.

I wonder who still advertises on Limbaugh? Is he still on the air?

I applaud the recognition of who advertises on FOX. I would not want to buy products knowing my money goes into the pockets of the likes of Limbaugh, Ingraham and FOX in general. It's not that I "seek their financial destruction," because I don't, I just don't have any interest in contributing to their survival - I say let 'em sink or swim without me.

Limpbrain is still fouling the air at Faux. He is still an idiot. Our local Houston AM radio political talk shows are all right wing. Nothing for moderates or progressives.

Why should she?

Being civil drives away her fans, who are mostly fascists white supermacists alt-right free speech advocates identitarians the kind of people who use phrases like "free speech warrior."

Did I use the politically correct term? I wouldn't want to commit White Genocide again by not using the politically correct term. Goodness forbid I offend them again.

German chemical company BASF has pulled its ads from “The Ingraham Angle,” becoming at least the 26th sponsor to join a growing advertisers boycott against Fox News host Laura Ingraham.
...
The list of advertisers included Thursday: BASF, Ace Hardware, Gilead, Spectrum, Ovation Hair, Invisalign, Beaches Resorts, MyPillow, Tac Light Elite, Senekot, Cabela’s, Old Dominion and last but not least hemorrhoid care system RectiCare.

-------
RectiCare. Heh, heh, heh! Soothe that butthurt feeling. 26 advertisers gone.

Laura Ingraham vs. just about anyone who isn't trying to do her bodily harm, I'm rooting for the other person.

Parkland, Florida shooting survivor David Hogg announced Monday that he would launch another boycott sometime later this week following his successful campaign against Fox News host Laura Ingraham.
“Going to announce another boycott this week… Stay tuned,” the high school senior tweeted along with a gif of a nervous Kermit the Frog.

This is so exciting! Who will it be? Who will it be? Hannity? Limbaugh? Loose the hounds!

This one seems pretty lame:

David Hogg tells Twitter followers to boycott BlackRock and Vanguard

@blackrock and @Vanguard_Group are two of the biggest investors in gun manufacturers; if you use them, feel free to let them know. Thanks

BlackRock, Invesco (IVZ) and Vanguard are the top three institutional holders of American Outdoor Brands (AOBC), the parent company of Smith & Wesson Corp., one of the world’s largest gun manufacturers. BlackRock and Vanguard are also the largest holders of gunmaker Sturm Ruger (RGR).

Many of these funds are passively managed, which means companies like American Outdoor Brands and Sturm Ruger are in the portfolios because they are part of major stock market indexes.

While I agree that US needs more gun control in general, that kid (Hogg) is very annoying.
