I thought this might be the case though I did not know what it might be called but my paranoid brain was all over this one too. The ride share pricing was almost funny. Fucking money grubbers. The only way to win is to stop buying shit or we need a thousand Luigis. Gotta admit, the Luigis would be more fun.
And for those of you who wish Republicans were running California, they have or are close to having laws in place to prevent this. California, always first with consumer protections.

I love Lina Khan and that's not just skin deep. I could sit and watch her do taxes all day. She makes a comment here on The Daily Show at 15:52 "New Algorithm" about instead of looking to these large companies that control 75% or more of their market, look at the fact that they are all using the same algorithm to set their pricing. That is the monopoly behind the near monopoly. Is it effectively price collusion when this same algorithm reaches the same conclusion? We are truly good an fucked.

I can't imagine what it's going to be like in the coming decades. Sensors and cameras everywhere gathering information, mood, state of mind, health - you have a headache, buy aspirin, see a doctor, or whatever - I expect.
