I still have a bad taste in my mouth over them (UHC) letting scammers have every datum of info I ever gave them, right down to my SS# and the first four digits of a high value bank account.

I question the timing of this considering the events in December. Does a CEO have to be killed these days for change? Unfortunately some will say yes. Better question, will this affect the trial and sentencing?

Ectopic Pregnancy Deaths Have Nearly Doubled. It’s Worse in States With Abortion Bans.

While chaos and access issues at hospitals during the COVID-19 pandemic likely contributed to at least some of the deaths, the surge has persisted, raising serious questions about the role of the most significant disruption to maternal healthcare in the years since: state restrictions on abortion.

Scientists revive a powerful antibiotic that superbugs had defeated

Scientists have found a way to revive vancomycin, a powerful antibiotic that some dangerous bacteria have learned to resist. Instead of creating an entirely new drug, researchers paired vancomycin with a small molecule called pghi-4, which blocks a bacterial enzyme linked to resistance. The combination restored the antibiotic’s ability to kill drug-resistant E. faecium, raising hopes that similar chemical helpers could rescue other failing medicines.

Clavulanic Acid plays a similar role in blocking resistance to Amoxycillin. It's a neat trick, but the bacteria will win in the end.

The bacteria always win in the end.

Not only amoxicillin, the entire penicillin class. There are other beta-lactamase inhibitors also. As far as I know pghi-4 only works with vancomycin. No clue if it works with other glycopeptide antibiotics.

Never-Screened Cervical Cancer Rates Climb Among US Women

Nearly 1 in 3 women aged 21 to 29 years had never been screened for cervical cancer by 2023, up from roughly 1 in 8 in 2005, according to a new research letter published in JAMA Network Open.1 The study found the share of never-screened women aged 30 to 65 years also grew over the same period, reaching nearly 1 in 7.

Drawing on 9 cycles of the National Health Interview Survey (NHIS) conducted between 2005 and 2023, researchers found the proportion of women aged 21 to 29 years who reported never being screened for cervical cancer rose from 12.5% (3.5 million women) to 31.9% (6.2 million women), an average annual percentage change (AAPC) of 5.2% (95% CI, 4.3%-7.5%). The increase accelerated sharply after 2010, climbing at an annual rate of 7.9% (95% CI, 6.0%-14.4%) through 2023. Among women aged 30 to 65 years, never-screening rose from 5.3% (4.3 million) to 14.8% (9.2 million), an AAPC of 6.8% (95% CI, 3.1%-12.0%).

Additionally, human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination uptake among women aged 21 to 29 years climbed from 5.7% in 2008 to 54.0% in 2019 but remains incomplete. The study authors noted that nearly 8 million women in this age group remain unvaccinated, and almost a third of them have also never been screened for cervical cancer.

Efficacy of a Novel Injection Lipolysis to Induce Targeted Adipocyte Apoptosis: A Randomized, Phase IIa Study of CBL-514
Injection on Abdominal Subcutaneous Fat Reduction

Conclusions CBL-514 injection at multiple doses up to 300 mg with a unit dose of 2.0 mg/cm2 is safe, well-tolerated, and reduced abdominal fat volume and thickness by inducing adipocyte apoptosis. Although other procedures exist to treat abdominal fat, they have limitations and may cause complications. At a dose of 2.0 mg/cm2, CBL-514 safely and significantly reduced abdominal fat volume by 24.96%, making it a promising new treatment for routine, nonsurgical abdominal fat reduction in dermatologic clinics. Level of Evidence: 4
