Michael Cohen, President Trump’s longtime attorney and fixer, has reached a plea deal with prosecutors in the Southern District of New York, press reports said.


A New York court will hold a proceeding “relevant” to the Cohen case today at 4 p.m., a spokesman for the U.S. Attorney’s office in the Southern District of New York said Tuesday.


The spokesman, Nicholas Biase, declined to be more specific, but mentioned the hearing in response to questions about recent press reports that Cohen has reached a plea deal.


The New York Times and ABC News both reported Cohen has already reached a deal with prosecutors. Earlier today, numerous reports suggested Cohen had entered into talks with prosecutors about a possible agreement to plead guilty.


The New York Times said the deal concerns payments to women who allege sexual relationships with President Trump.

I don't see anything significant coming out of this unless Cohen really does have recordings of Trump after the election, where he talks directly about obstructing justice.

Cohen could have a recording where Trump talks about deals made with Russians, but that's really more than we can hope.

One of the charges is campaign fraud that he is pleading guilty to, allegedly.

Trump's persistent obstruction of justice in this case, likewise for Manafort's case, the soon-to-be-announced guilty verdict in Manafort, and the plea deal in sex-related things are going to destroy Trump in and of themselves, but they are also building blocks as they lead in the direction of Russian peepee tapes.

Trump is going to have to resign, he can't continue on this path to inevitable impeachment and jail. He should have already resigned but he's stubborn and stupid.

In acknowledging the charges against him, Cohen said he was directed to violate campaign law at the direction of a candidate for federal office. At the same candidate’s direction, he said he paid $130,000 to somebody to keep them quiet, which was later repaid by the candidate. He didn’t identify the candidate or the person who was paid, but those facts match Cohen’s payment to Clifford and Trump’s repaymen
