Mitch McConnell Gone?

I don’t really wish agony on anyone. Not even the bloated turd in the WH. I just wish he was gone, and same for the Turtle.
He's a major reason the bloated turd is sitting in the Whitehouse today and a major reason RvW was overturned that has resulted in the deaths of many women.

And ICE and tariffs...
Fuck McConnell.
He can suffer in hell or needle strewn public park or whatever.
He earned it by causing all the suffering he has.
Tom

Oh nooo I thought the TDS guy might think Renee Good deserved it oh nooo
Good god...
Explain how it was unreasonable of me to think how the guy who assumes people have TDS would think that then.
Dude, what is your obsession with me about TDS? I have used it maybe a handful of times on this forum since Trump was elected. BFD.
Dude, what's your obsession with assuming people are mentally ill if they have concerns about Trump?
TDS is just a slang term for people overly obessed with Trump. It is not a mental illness per the DSM, nor did I ever claim it was. Sheesh.
The irony here is that indeed, plenty of people DO have Trump Derangement Syndrome. It’s called MAGA. You’d have to be seriously deranged to consider Trump a reasonable candidate for anything, much less POTUS.

Heard his wife is in China and has been there for quite some time.
I think she left 3 days after he was hospitalized. I wonder if this is her activating her escape hatch when it all comes crashing down.

Would t be something if McConnell’s death were a tipping point?

Also read that two Congress critters claim they visited him and had lengthy conversations with him. So he’s being kept alive by machines..

It's so that she can't be asked to terminate life support as far as anyone can tell.

She's the only one who can have life support terminated.

Can't she just send a text?

Irony or hypocrisy or mirror speak. After all of the obsession over a dress with Clinton, the relentless political attacks and investigations into him... to hear people consider getting uppity over the guy who tried to get a mob to riot and steal the election in 2020 is "deranged"... is in itself, quite deranged.

It could also be evidence that the hospitalization isn't for something severe.

The tipping point (I suppose among many) was Trump winning the nomination nearly unopposed in 2024 after January 6th.

Mitch has been in the Senate for over 40 years. If we had term limits, all of the harm he had done would never have happened. I'm a professional nurse and the first thing I learned in my nursing program was never to judge my patients, so I don't wish anyone, not even the most awful person, like the one who was paralyzed but spit on a nurse who was caring for him, to suffer. I don't know that man's history. All I know was that he was dragged behind a pick up truck after doing something that angered the other rural jerks in his community and that left him paralyzed. That happened about 45 years ago, but I will never forget the calm, caring nurse who simply told him to stop spitting on her while she provided care.

Since Trump and Mitch are past their normal life expectancies, if we must, can't we just hope that they die peacefully in the near future, not that our wishing it will happen will make it happen. I'm not into that Old Testament eye for an eye crap.

Btw, how come nobody ever mentions that Trump has Biden or Obama derangement syndrome?

I'm not thinking that is true. Besides, if we had term limits, probably not getting that second reconciliation bill passed by Schumer either.

He isn't in charge anymore and the GOP are paralyzed by Trump in the Senate.

To add the above, even though I know this is one of my many character flaws, I hope McConnell suffers.

Tough crowd.

I do wonder, though, how many here are against the death penalty for the worst-of-the-worst-of-society because it's "inhumane and barbaric".
Stuff your sanctimony. You're defending pure evil.

Yes, it's a tough crowd because many of us do not even recognize Mitch McConnell as a person, or as having ever been one.

The requirement for Mitch McConnell to become a person, to me, would be his recognition and adoption of the inversely worded golden rule.

To get him to understand that, he would have to suffer greatly.

This is not to say "he should have to", but if he had a functional brain, there's no way to get to the result without the consequence of suffering or manually re-arranging his neurons one by one (which he would probably also "suffer" from).

There's just no other way to modify behavior, and even getting him to the first step on that path would be a journey.

It would be a hellish slog for him to examine the nature of his failures and then to poke or prod or occasionally reward him until his core thought processes start feeling the change.

When something is so corruptly not-a-pperson, oftentimes it's easier to let that thing die and start all over with gestating a baby and spending 2 decades of such work on that instead of the evil asshole.

Sadly, though, his brain is likely liquefying as we speak, after his neurons being deprived of oxygen so long.

I do not think it is worth our time to manually rebuild Mitch McConnell's brain painlessly neuron by neuron in a way that implies a lack of immediate suffering. It is much easier to produce the sort of person he should be, were his brain intact, through a long road of suffering and occasionally also praise.

As this is Mitch McConnell's journey into the darkness, I wish him all the suffering he would need to die as a person rather than one of the more despicable monsters to ever bother us with his existence.

As has been explained in another case there's an obvious difference between wanting someone to die and wanting to impose death through the state, and imposing death through the state. But clearly you only rely on bad faith. Is anyone here arguing Mitch McConnell should get the death penalty? No? Then probably should figure out that people are making an obvious distinction. It's very simple.

I would have said that Trump got the nomination. Republicans used to have genuine principals and genuine principals. No party or president has ever been perfect but Eisenhower was a good person with a good moral code. No saber rattling for him.

He continued New Deal age cuts, expanded and Social Security. He opposed McCarthyism, using executive privilege where necessary, signed the Civil Rights act of 1957, and enforced it using the Army in AK

Under his administration, the US highway system began as well as NASA. His quote about the dangers of the military industrial complex remain among my favorite presidential quotes of all time.

We have not had a GOP president t of such integrity and such accomplishments since. In fact, the GOP has declined to the point that it is unrecognizable, with very few exceptions. IMO, the GOP is dead and died the moment t Trump won nomination the first time. The second nomination was spitting on its grave. The third was a massive dump on the party, the US Constitution, Bill of Rights, and the nation.

Also, I'm confused. I thought the whole problem with the left was moral purity. Now you're saying we should be morally pure?

Trump is simply deranged. So are his followers.

I don’t think there is such a thing as moral purity. If there were, it would end the first week of any presidency.

We are all full of faults and weaknesses and ambiguities. These are certainly made public if not amplified the minute anyone runs for office. Other ways, too but we are talking politics

There is a huge difference between being morally pure and absolutely corrupt. We are unable to achieve or tolerate the first and we ought to be absolutely unwilling to accept anything approaching the second. The GOP has proven itself to be power mad and absolutely immoral, as evidenced in its embrace of and cheering of Trump wrapping himself in the US flag and holding a bible while uttering despicable words.

Not I.
If a person has long since proven themself to be a scourge on society, they should be removed from society by whatever cost effective means that are convenient. I do not feel society has any obligation to maintain such an offensive individual.
