Things are getting rough. Might I recommend signing off the internet and going down to your bunker for a few months until things blow over?

I wonder where Derec finds all the time to keep up on these local "BLM" type stories.

Aren't you the one who started the LA and MN shooting threads? Maybe, take your own advice?

The first story in the OP is a tragedy, but it is pretty cut an dried. Stupid or deranged man breaks into another man's home to attack him over internet posts and gets shot.

But unlike those other threads, this thread was not created to discuss this tragedy but to implicate Black Lives Matter in all sorts of violence. As you can see from Derec's post above that he believes Black Lives Matter is involved in the courthouse shooting, despite any of the facts being released.

Two bailiffs, shooter killed inside Berrien County Courthouse in southwest Michigan, report says
Don't know the identity and motive of the shooter yet, but given timing it is likely about #BLM. Note that he grabbed a deputy's gun. That is a real danger when engaging people. It would certainly have been a better outcome had the deputy manage to shoot the assailant before he could grab his gun.

You know nothing about the shooting, but you think it is likely about #BLM? Seriously, WTF?

An inmate going to court grabs an officers gun and kills people in a courthouse, absolutely no other information is known about it, and in your mind it has to be #BLM related.

I just don't know what else to say, just about anything I could say would be deemed an insult, so I better just leave it at that.

Some people need a boogeyman in order to explain the perpetual stains in their underwear to their mommies.

You know what happens when police, department-wide, perceive their jobs are more dangerous than they had been?
They escalate. so BLM hits out on cops is just going to get more people killed by REDUCED rules of engagement, to better protect the cops. Ever threaten a cops life to get what you want? how did that work out?

The other side of this is if the police begin to feel their lives are at greater danger they may work to regulate better when cops are using deadly force.

Sadly, I think Malintent has a finger on the pulse of most of the USA on this. Rather than view this escalation as a real longstanding issue in police-community relations that requires the establishment of mutual trust and respect, much of the police will double down on the violence which will be welcomed and endorsed by the racists, and kneejerk apologists for the police and the ironic "law and order" crowds.

Waiting for Derec to apologize for saying the man was probably a part of the BLM movement. What's that I hear? Crickets?

1. Based on timing of similar such attacks by black radicals, yes.
2. When one has little information, probabilistic statements are entirely appropriate. Of course any assessments are tentative and subject to revision as more data comes in.

Nobody said it had to be #BLM related. Unfortunately we won't be able to ask him directly as to his motives though.

I obviously did not. Of course there are many white #BLM supporters (just look at this board) so that by itself would not disprove the #BLM angle. ;)

Besides, another reason why this case is relevant is that it shows the danger of perps (regardless of race) getting control of an officer's gun. That's why #BLM were so wrong in the case of Jamar Clark for example.

Not going to apologize for it. While tentative and subject to future revision, it was a fair statement given data available at the time.

So a person that gets pulled over when driving is a perp?

In that case, since no information has gotten out, it is fair to assume that Sagittarius A* is probably a member of Black Lives Matters,

I agree with derec that the only responsible thing to do is to disarm cops so they aren't in any more danger of having their guns stolen and used on them.

The Berrien County shooter was a white inmate.

Derec,

Did you not know this?

Obviously a self-hating white.
