He represents just a handful of Muslims since most are law abiding and respect France. Just like America Muslim men and women are far better off than in Middle Eastern countries.

That probably answers the OP question: "The jihadi was "known to intelligence services" and had an extensive criminal history, so why wasn't he deported by now?"

As to the follow up question: "Why wait until he actually tries to kill people before anything is done?", that would be because precrime isn't yet prosecutable under French law.

You can't be deported from your country of citizenship; Nor can you be arrested for crimes you haven't yet committed - not even if you have brown skin, or profess to be a Muslim. It's almost as though these people lived in a free country. Go figure.

A very small amount of Muslims born in European countries turn to terrorist. Nonetheless, it means greater security at airports not just for people entering the country but in the country. In the Philippines where I often stay, the whole airport area is out of bounds to non passengers. The only way to enter is with a valid ticket. I'm not sure if this will one day apply to Europe.

Yeah, I'm sure security at French airports needs to increase. It's not like the guy was shot dead by assault weapon toting security guards seconds after he attempted to pull off his terrorist attack, and before he was able to cause damage to anyone or anything.

Your post was irrelevant. The OP was a jumping to conclusion rant about Muslim refugees and migrants and deportation. The fact this killer was French born meant that entire reasons for the bigotry-driven rant were not based in fact.
