I think that the Trinity aspect of the church doctrine was a boneheaded tactical mistake. Muslims are using this to skullfuck it.

But this is all fucking nonsense.

Did Islam partially come from Christians who did not buy into this the even dumber modicifaction of Trinitarianism?

There was always a small minority of Christians that were non-trinitarian from what I understand of history.

Sure, sure, it's all fun and games making fun of the other guy's silly beliefs. Yeah, Muslims can pick on the Trinity, it's like shooting fish in a barrel with a shotgun. Hope they don't get too happy though, or very similar arguments will come back to bite them in the ass. In my experience, Muslim apologists tend to be the worst of them all. A couple millennia as the only theological game in town makes your clerics just...dumb. Have you heard what passes for theological argument coming out of Islam? Ugh.

The arguments for any given religious belief are so laughable that even people stupid enough to hold remarkably similar beliefs can see the glaring flaws in them.

It's an excellent reason to think that they are all irrational nonsense; But for some reason, all the theists have a blind spot when it comes to their particular sect.

Never underestimate the human ability to persuade themselves that they are not wrong, even in the face of overwhelming evidence. The difference between a moderately clever person and a genius is that the genius suspects that he might be wrong. (At least, that seems likely, although I would like a little more evidence).

As Feynman said, "The first principle is that you must not fool yourself – and you are the easiest person to fool".
