Was sent a meme....


Right now, he would be named Oreo.

Which would be cruel. You tell people come over, meet my dog, Oreo, they're going to expect a border collie, or some other dog with black and white coloring.
It would be jarring, a mental speed bump as all thdir expectations prove incorrect.
They'll try to adjust, as they play with the adorable puppy, but wrack their brains trying to figure what possessed me to pick that name. Finally they try to guess.
"I guess he really likes, um, oreos, huh?"
"What? No, we stopped buying those when we brought him home. Don't want him confused between his name and a snack. Learned that lesson with the parakeet we named Drumstick."
"Oh."

I had split pea soup with my egg bites but I can't think of a way to work that in. Split Bite? Porridgegg?
