"Now a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a garland of twelve stars. Then being with child, she cried out in labor and in pain to give birth."
REVELATION 12:1-2

So I opened Stellarium and sure enough, in September, specifically September 23rd, the sun will be in Virgo - right at the head, and the moon will be right at her feet. Of course that happens virtually every year at some point in the month of September. But this time, apparently for the first time in 7000 years, Jupiter will be at Virgo's crotch, and several other planets right at her head. So finally the Revelations passage will come true.

Of course, the idea of Virgo giving birth to Jupiter might seem a bit far fetched - Jupiter after all is known for defiling women. I say she's losing her virginity - not giving birth. Maybe though it's the sign we've all been waiting for - Jesus will be reborn, but we won't know about it for 30 years or so until he grows up.

I wonder what the folks at rapture ready are doing?

SLD - "It's the end of the world as we know it, and I feel fine."

RR sounds a tad non-committal, not quite rejecting the fantasy.

Is this astrology? It would be if it was about humans, their horoscopes, etc. But it is not about that.

It is about what some have noticed about a great sign in the Bible. It could be very important and there is more to it than this article covers.

It is recommended that everyone take a look at Revelation 12 and decide for themselves.

I don't think astrology is limited to individual horoscopes.

The Bible says that the stars were created for the express purpose of providing signs and portents. Astrology is the study of the positions of celestial objects and their importance in predicting terrestrial events, both for individuals and for big, newspaper headlines stuff.

So, astrology would be the means to interpret stars that portend the end.

... and just imagine the labor pains

I know! You need someone to invest their life savings into advertising this, like that idiot did for Harold Camping back in 2011.

One retired transportation agency worker from New York spent $140,000 on advertising.

Or even better, sell a radio station or two!

Family Radio spent over US$100 million on the information campaign, financed by sales and swap of broadcast outlets.

RR itself is always noncommittal. Their participants on the other hand are known for jumping the gun many times. Usually when there's another war in the Middle East. I.e. Every other month.

There's always somebody on this planet for whom it is the end of the world.

You just wait. Your turn will come.

It'd be kind of arrogant to think MY end is the end of the WORLD...
Or maybe it's just that in my outlook, my world includes a few other people, it extends beyond me. Life will go on, just without me there to snark at their mistakes.

Interesting about rapture ready as below it is written no one will know.

Mark 13:32
"But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

Mathew 24:36
36 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son,[f] but only the Father.

Knowing the end of days is not the same as the above "knowing the day and hour".

Mathew 24:4 -
4 Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many. 6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of birth pains.

Just you wait.

You haven't seen anything yet.

Sorry, I can't do the 23rd; there's no way I'm giving up my Saturday. How about the 25th? Mondays usually suck anyway.

Doesn't matter chaps what day you think suits you, just as long as you say " I believe in Jesus".
:)
I believe in Jesus, he never fails to mow the lawn... :D

More seriously, is it more important to say 4 those words, or to actually believe the intent of those 4 words? And does they atypical person who only shows up (or thinks about anything "Christian") no more than 2-3 times a year at a church, really believing those 4 words?

Or a few thoughts by other Christians on why some think "rapture theology" is for the birds...
http://lutherantheologystudygroup.blogspot.com/2010/08/does-lutherans-believe-in-rapture.html
Do Lutherans believe in the Rapture?
Strangely, the answer is both yes and no. Yes, if we are referring to the event that Paul mentioned in 1 Thessalonians 4:17 where Christians who are living and are already dead will rise and be "caught up" in the clouds to meet the Lord Jesus Christ when He comes again after which will be the final judgment. And no, if we are talking about the "Secret Rapture" popularised by Dispensatonalists and which has engendered much literatures and pop fictions such as Tim La Haye's End Time series.

Or a whole book why modern rapture theology isn't the only Christian theological construct:
https://www.amazon.com/Rapture-Exposed-Message-Hope-Revelation/dp/0813343143
The idea of “The Rapture”—the return of Christ to rescue and deliver Christians off the earth—is an extremely popular interpretation of the Bible's Book of Revelation and a jumping-off point for the best-selling “Left Behind” series of books. This interpretation, based on a psychology of fear and destruction, guides the daily acts of thousands if not millions of people worldwide. In The Rapture Exposed, Barbara Rossing argues that this script for the world's future is nothing more than a disingenuous distortion of the Bible.

This basic arrangement happened before — in September 1827, in September 1483, in September 1293, and in September 1056. (And that is in the last 1000 years alone)
