Police officers give kid a beatdown for having a fake ID

I'm curious if it has been noted that he did not have a fake ID, but gave the officer the wrong zip code which is what prompted the arrest.

From what I had understood he gave the doorman the wrong zip code, and when the doorman rejected him, the ABC agent swooped in. To get into bars on "The Corner" one frequently asked questions like that to try to trip up people who have fakes. Another popular one was asking people what their Zodiac sign was, or when they graduated high school.

I am confused, google says he is 20. So having real ID is pointless, bouncer would tell him you are not old enough.

Americans are crazy. In the civilised world, we are adults at age eighteen.

Maybe but that's a separate issue. If he is 20 and used real ID then bouncer would have bounced him without asking ZIP code.

His injuries. Where's the evidence this guy went down and got hurt in the process.

He's got a laceration. That's not evidence of a beatdown.

You are very ok with police beating and killing black people, why is that? Are you a racist? You thought lacerations were evidence of a beat down with George Zimmerman.

Yup. It's a standard technique.

I have never heard of ABC cops doing anything like this.Is it normal in a lot of states?something is fishy here.As stated above the door man should catch this and just say go away.
i have been through many stings from ABC in the last 28 years.Regular police do hang outside popular bars and clubs, but are mostly looking for drunk drivers.
this whole thing makes no sense.

So any time there is a n----r laying on the ground with his face bleeding, you always assume he's guilty of some alleged crime unless proven otherwise? It looks like his only crime was getting arrested...and he had no control over that.

The ABC guys there are very zealous as noted earlier in the thread they swooped in with guns drawn on another girl without properly identifying themselves.

This is actually a very strange thing in my state.

Yes, because every minor with a fake ID is a armed terrorist. Geesh.

They're trying to catch the people with fake IDs so there are consequences for trying rather than just a you-don't-get-in outcome.

We have someone who reportedly tried to keep the cops from putting cuffs on him. We have injuries consistent with the cops forcing the matter. From the facts we have been given it's pretty clear he's guilty of trying to use a fake ID.

And when they did so, they found out that she was carrying a case of sparkling water, not beer, costing the Commonwealth of Virginia $200,000. Fuckwits. After that incident, the head of the agency promised to outfit all officers with body cameras. A year later, nothing.

According to Johnson's lawyer, he showed a valid ID, but it had a zip code from his family's previous residence, and he gave the zip code of their current address. After he was turned away, ABC cops moved in.

The UVA president has also stated that she asked for ABC help to shut down the establishments that sell to under-age students. Instead, they've fixated on the students themselves. Brilliant.

Unless you go after the customers you can't stomp out the problem.

Pulling liquor licenses also solves the problem without having to resort to beatdowns.

Pretty much wrong. The burden is on the sellerl. This incident was handled very poorly.Even if I sell to a minor,no arrests are made.I get a citation and must go to court.
A beat down is so over the top.

Apparently that is VA's ABC modus operandi.
