Police shooting in Atlanta aka "Sir, this is a Wendy's drive-through"

Likely we would get a hung jury then. This was just such a routine nothing that police behavior provoked into a giant something.
No, police were very courteous and professional, even friendly. But when he blew 0.108%, they had to take him in for DUI.
It is Rayshard Brooks who decided to turn this routine arrest into a violent confrontation and it ended up costing him his life.

There are lots of folks who will excuse police behavior no matter what, such as yourself.
No, I am not excusing police behavior no matter what. But Brooks was a threat, it's stupid to pretend he wasn't.

I don't put police into a special class as you do. If they can't take the heat they ought to find another job same as anyone else. Poorly trained officers often escalate harmless situations because they're poorly trained. But they are still responsible.
Watch the video. It was not the police officers who escalated the situations, but Rayshard Brooks. That is not a matter of opinion, but a clear fact as can be seen from the video.

Wallets look like guns, too. So, if there's a cop next to you while you take your wallet out, get your credit card from it, pay a waiter, and are in the midst of putting your credit card back into it, don't point the wallet at the cop next to you who was watching the whole time. According to Loren, the cop is so dimwitted he will think it's a gun.

None of your response matters. Mr. Brooks was running away, so he was not a lethal threat. It is that simple no matter what the racists, bigots, kneejerk police apologists or their dupes say.

The left's narrative is...

You harm your credibility by claiming that “The Left” has a single narrative and that the application from this case defines it.
“The Left” is not a hive mind. It never has been.
Either you know that, and you’re being unnecessarily and distractingly hyperbolic; or you don’t know that and your whole argument suffers from the basic flaw of superficiality.

(But thank you for describing the content of the link so people can discuss without going off to other sites for background.)

I'll concede I ought have wrote "a" narrative of the left. But I wonder why it is that feminist credibility is not undermined when they describe men as a monolithic entity (like "men's violence towards women") and when men object, feminists roll their eyes and say "if it doesn't apply to you, you're not one of the men it's aimed at".

I am impressed - you found a way to interject an ironic jab feminists in a thread that is not about women, let alone feminists.

What was ironic about it?

The fact that you just invoked "Feminists" as if they were a monolithic entity. Duh.

Blacks telling a white cop to get his white face out of there

https://twitter.com/DigitalForests/status/1274951856045899776

But we are told by the media and the politicians that they are the "anti-racist". How could those people be so wrong?

Resegregation can't come soon enough

I disagree with that, but I definitely think integration was pursued in a completely wrong way. It was asymmetric, with black people treated differently.
You can't achieve true racial equality and harmony if you insist that one group should be measured with a different standard for college/grad/professional school admissions (aka so-called "affirmative action"). You also cannot have true racial equality and harmony if you fault white people for every perceived "microaggression" while letting real and overt racism by black people slide and even go as far as to claim that "black people can't be racist".
The mess we are in can be attributed directly to the wrong choices our society made in the 60s and 70s.

Developments from the actual case:

Rayshard's girlfriend (aka "side piece") Natalie White was finally arrested.

Some family man. Spent time in prison for domestic violence. Cheating on his wife with the Wendy's arsonist. Driving drunk and then passing out in a Wendy's drive through.
Nothing but a two bit fuckboy player. But women for some reason love those bad boys even if they are shrimpy 5'7" :(

Do you need someone to move this post to the Derec Can't Get Women thread in Elsewhere?

Why anyone would think any of this is relevant to this tragedy is truly "fascinating".

There is just so much that is fundamentally and demonstrably wrong with what you are saying there.

It is relevant. It's just not central. I agree derec has a point about the way the victims and perps are often or usually presented to us as cartoon goodies (black victims) versus baddies (police). I also agree with him that Brooks' actions were partly to blame for him being shot.
