At one time the distinguishing characteristic of our species was claimed to be tool making and use. Now we know that other organisms are just as adept.

It's been my contention for some years that the distinguishing human characteristic ought to be the ability to pretend, and more accurately, to pretend in a different reality. And that's what we see with Trumpies, the inability to perceive and live in reality. We are Homo simulare, Boy Orange and his minions are living proof.

It may be an unexpected trait of a mutation originally evolved for coping with harsh conditions. Damn, there is a word for those....
