There is a guy on TV every week promoting '' seed money'. Send him $100 and through god you are guaranteed to get $1000 back.

He also offers holy water guaranteed to cure what ails you.

Heard any good ones? .

I was targeted by some scammers nested in Saddleback Church, who have access to a lot of information technology resources. They were going for the "Jesus fool that we'll have as a low wage slave for 30 years or so" angle.

The one douchebag set up a bank account with 66 7-4-76 as part of the numbers in their account, along with digits from my driver's license. Claimed it was a coincidence "made by God" when they sat down next to me at a career networking mixer. They happened to know someone I had corresponded with in the past (or someone pretending to be the person- never meet the person IRL), this guy with a mathematics website "bugman123". I'm sort of a fractal hobbyist, so they laid it on thick.

Basically, I've ended up doing volunteer work for them anyway, although I feel like I should torture and kill them, but I don't want to go to jail for doing the right thing.... and I know that the USA is corrupt as fuck. So... anyway. I suppose I just live with low grade shame that I am surrounded by corrupt pieces of shit with economic power who do nothing meaningful for anyone, and nobody is willing to join me in torturing and killing them, and I'm not willing to go to jail for the rest of my life if not one good person exists who will help me in my effort to rid the world of these pieces of shit.

You're all a bunch of fucking losers for not wanting to torture and kill these pieces of shit. Or not- you are the people who do this kind of shit to others, right? Which is why you don't mind when it's done. Fuck, I suppose I'm not a loser if all of you are against me. Still sucks though.

If you don't have friends who are willing to help torture and kill, you should get out more.

That'd be a case of wishful drinking?

Oh I see. No, the closest I've ever got was being handed some religious drivel on a pamphlet outside Tooting Broadway tube station in London by a couple of unpleasant people some years back. A cousin of mine & her husband gave up a good job (his) and sold their house and moved into a small apartment in a religious complex and spent around 70 hours a week cleaning for Jesus. Thankfully I've never been a victim. I can usually spot the warning signs from a mile off though.

Wow, I think we need to torture and kill opportunists who take advantage of people like that.

I volunteered at the Saddleback food bank before Christmas. They said "if someone gets emotional, and they will, we're giving them a lot of food, and they will be surprised by the ham or turkey at the end. They came here to feed their families over the holiday, and they are hurting. When they get emotional, that's when you say "have you talked to anyone about Jesus?""

I thought it was sort of hilarious, but at the same time, WTF if they are serious. These people are actively targeting the poor, and while I might have been a pseudoinsider, I can't believe they said shit like that. Although to me, I think the whole thing might just be a fun joke. The lady who was saying it was recovering from Chemo, etc. and they all say prayers together, etc. They don't seem mean... just people trying to live.

Until you think "they all live in nice houses, have nice cars, and live in really nice areas... what if the poor thought about that? Maybe introducing the idea that an entity called Jesus gave them the stuff they stole will help them bamboozle the poor enough."

You corrupt people need to be tortured and killed. You all suck. <--not aimed at anyone who is on the correct side of the line.

The "Seed Money" scam is pervasive in nearly every successful televangelist program.

Yes, it is sick what these people do, preying on the most gullible and desperate. There's a prosperity preacher in Guatemala who goes by the name, I shit you not, Cash Luna. He's also a faith healer, and was charging 200 Quetzales (about $30) a head for one of his rallies (or whatever). People will come from far and wide thinking that their eyesite will be restored, or something miraculous like that. Desperate, desperate people, to whom their 200 quetzales is a lot of money, almost a month's earnings for the very poor, are disproportionately represented among his flock.

I truly hope something terrible happens to this man and his wife.

Theists are inherently gullible.

Sometimes, I wish there was a Hell, because surely it would include a special section for people who exploit the gullibility of Christians like this.

Religious scams go back at least as far as Colonel Jesus and His Traveling Miracle Wagon:
John 14:14: If you ask anything in my name I will do it.
Echoed in Matthew 18:19. Of course, the faithful will tell you today that he meant something completely different. Similar to, 'He didn't say shitHOLE, he said shitHOUSE. Get it right!!'

Many years ago, before home computers and the internet, I somehow ended up on the mailing list of one "Reverand Al". I think he just chose the area code of not very good neighborhoods and bombed everybody. His letters were always a hoot. Several pages with lots of CAPITOL LETTERS, highlighting and underlining. And always with some sort of little weird thing. A supposed "prayer medallion" that was a little embossed foil "medallion" with a red thread attached. A "prayer blanket" that was a small swatch of pink felt. A cheap plastic shower cap with a printed "outline of Reverand Al's own hand print". Reverend Al was playing the old prosperity game. I never sent him a penny bit every six months or so for two years, I received one of his letters. Apparently Rev. Al had several operations running under different names across several states. I and a few like minded friends used to laugh ourselves silly at each new Reverend Al scam. Receiving a new Reverend Al letter with its mind blowing dumb gimmick was like Christmas day for 8 year old. Wheeeeeee! They don't make outrageous religious scammers like Reverend Al anymore.

I see all supernaturally based religions, except my own Gnostic Christianity, as scams. We have no supernatural beliefs.

Send me some cash and I will tell you all about God. Kidding on this last but not my other sentence.

Like John Lennon said, the only good Christian is a Gnostic Christian.

bABack in the 70s there was Pyramid Power. People bought wooden frames to sleep under.

Earlier thrtr was Orgone(?) Energy. There were contraptions to collect sexual energy from the cosmos.

The Romans came up with Let The Buyer Beware for a reason.

I try to be balanced and tolerant, but I can not escape viewing religion as a form of a communicable disease.

International Fellowship of Christians & Jews a Scam?

During the commercials —

Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein appears to be a very sincere and caring man, pleading with great emotion asking for your help supporting the Jewish people.
Thousands of Christians have given to this organization without being aware of numerous concerns that will be outlined below....

... What You Should Know Before Giving to the IFCJ:

Rabbi Eckstein REFUSES to work with Jewish people who actually believe in Jesus. (Read his own words below)

The IFCJ has NO written Statement of Faith.

November 2013: MinistryWatch.com writes a scathing article about the amount of money IFCJ spends on wages and promotion of their organization… Over 40¢ of EVERY $1 raised goes to fundraising and compensation!

The name of this organization International Fellowship of Christians and Jews is intentionally MISLEADING— as the IFCJ REFUSES to share the Good News of the Jewish Messiah (Jesus Christ) with anyone at ALL!

Charisma Magazine stated in their October 2013 magazine:

“…As the head of a nonprofit that is almost entirely supported by donations, what makes Yechiel Eckstein’s compensation noteworthy is its proportion to his organization’s overall income compared to other ministries. While the salary and benefit package of the head of the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews (ICFJ) is at least five times higher than any other leader of an Israel-related ministry, clocking in at $1.2 million, Eckstein’s compensation is more than double what the president of World Vision—a ministry with a budget 10 times larger—earns…”

Using the bible, scammers imply that Christians must help "Israel" as a mandate of god.

And many Christians "obey".

The above is a funny thing since 95% of Christians do not even obey the Ten Commandments, the mandates of God.

The State of Israel enjoys lots of billionaire Israelis (Jews) around the world whom easily can help their country with less than 5% of their wealthy and take care of food, schools and more.
