Reports of at Least 20 Victims Amid Active Shooting Incident in San Bernardino

Two or more people doing this doesn't sound like a spur of the moment incident. Hell, it couldn't have been. AR-15s are expensive and there were at least two used at the scene, along with the ubiquitous handgun.

The question is whether they were affiliated with a known organization and acted on orders or encouragement from that organization.

Or were they just some ambitious self-starters?

Until that's known, it's hard to put it in perspective.

But at least here in SoCal, Muslims have come out quite vehemently and unequivocally against this bullshit. And that's good to see. Hopefully it gets the press it deserves.

This thing took place about 10-12 miles from where I live. My daughter lives about 4-5 miles from where it happened. My ex, who lives in Redlands, is even closer... nah, it's too soon for jokes.

It is increasingly clear that the source of his (and his Qatarie wife's) alienation is at least partially rooted in his-their deeply religious Islamic identity and not because of poverty, unemployment, or social isolation. Adding to that might be some unknown workplace issues.

In any event, it is confirmed that they had well packed bags of equipment, including pipe bombs (they were even dressed with go-pro's). There is also some suspicion that Syed's brother was involved.

The gingerly left speculation of a planned parenthood connection, and Hillary's fishing for a 'end gun violence' theme is floundering on the rocks of reality. It's clearly Islamic identity driven terrorism (although they can't bring themselves to use the word Islamic).

But hey, bring in those Muslim refugees - what could go wrong?

PS: Police have found "IED factory" at Farook Redlands house.

Trump's campaign expected to get big boost - what a gift.

I saw that pic I posted on /pol/ and I have not had it vetted with a reputable news source. With the name Tashfeen Malik she looks a bit too european to be from Saudi Arabia, but it really means nothing as people can have all kinds of looks that are not expected.

I am not even sure it is her in the picture.

I didn't realize the authorities had determined a motive yet. But since you can claim this tragedy was "clearly Islamic identity driven terrorism" perhaps you could educate the world and reveal that motive? Or are you simply jumping to fear-driven conclusions again?

One news source had identified the wrong Saeed Farook. I forget which on what source, so be cautious until a reliable source confirms.

It seems to be a crazy mixture of workplace violence / terrorism. What makes me happy though is that as long as Muslims carry out such an attack, access to assault weapons in America isn't an issue that needs to be discussed.

That'd never happen. *cough* Boston Marathon bombing "suspect" pics and identity put online *cough*

The people who believe there is a "War on Christmas" should be happy. This is what a real "War" on Christians (and other non-Muslims) looks like.
I love the fact that the Daily News reported "GOD ISN'T FIXING THIS" regardless of all politicians' prayers. Perhaps it is because prayer is literally wishful thinking.

Assuming that this is jihad-related, would that really distinguish it from any of the other 351 mass shootings in America this year? They went and killed a bunch of the guy's co-workers but the crazy and stupid reason that they had for doing so was shared by a bunch of other crazy and stupid people as opposed to being their own issue.

If it happened in any other country it would be a fairly unique thing, but in America it kind of seems like par for the course.

If I were to guess, I'd say they had a plan in the works, but something at the party set the guy off, and he decided to step up his plans.

That's a good point. They did seem to have all of the equipment ready but the actual attack looks to be more spur-of-the-moment than anything else.

The investigation of at a home in Redlands continues, with more than two dozen FBI agents combing the home and its garage, according to federal officials. FBI officials say it is likely the home will yield answers as to what motivated the shooting.

-- Dozens of federal agents and local police are scouring the mass shooting scene in the Inland Regional Center.

-- The scene where police shot the suspects remains blocked off and a smashed SUV is still in the middle of San Bernardino Avenue. Forensic experts are examining the scene.

If it was terror related, the issue becomes of path to extremism, which is what needs to be extinguished. And access to assault weapons. If workplace related violence, it becomes more of an issue of mental health and access to assault weapons.

And NRA nuts are bouncing around yelling that this wouldn't have happened if the place wasn't a gun free zone. They are just stopping short of saying we need compulsory gun possession in this country.

Turns out unfettered access to serious firearms was a bad idea... and now that they've been shown to be wrong, they think the solution is more gun ownership and prevalence in society.

Also, your spur of the moment rage attack/dispute over the last mini-quiche at the xmas party seldom involves bringing along a friend to help you shoot people. Unless it's on "bring a gunman to work day".
