Republican candidate wants to take away right to vote from Puerto Ricans

Gosh, I wonder if racism or an attempt to be appealing to racists has anything to do with this comment.

Nah. That couldn't be.

Nah. Only a sinister Social Justice Warrior would think that.

Meh. Waddya 'speck? Rethugs want to take away voting rights from every identifiable group that is likely to vote against them or support Democrats.
Why would anyone think Puerto Ricans should be any different from blacks, Latinos, Muslims etc?

I disagree. His utterly contemptible position is based solely in electoral interest. The Trump Admin fucked up with Puerto Rico and the Puerto Ricans aren't going to Florida because they want to vote... they are desperate. That they'd use their constitutional rights to vote in their new state of residence is enshrined in Florida law, if they have moved to Florida.

The GOP has lost its fucking mind.

Nice try.

And why do you suppose it is that Republican politicians fuck up disaster relief in places like Puerto Rico, but not in disasters that happen in predominantly white areas?

The best you can argue is that they are trying to appeal to racists instead of being racist themselves.

I'm hardly trying to defend the guy. What he said was awful.

Indifference, because they don't vote in Federal Elections and... they are Hispanic.

The best you can argue is that they are trying to appeal to racists instead of being racist themselves.
No, I think he is trying to make an argument for disenfranchising American citizens because he thinks they won't vote for the GOP. Such a statement should disqualify one from being able to hold office.

It's quite simple really: The GOP are the government, as they control both houses, and the presidency. The government represents the country. Therefore voting against the government is treason.

Obviously, any identifiable group who intend such treason should be prevented from carrying out their nefarious scheme to overthrow the government. Ideally, only registered Republicans should be allowed to vote; But obviously it's necessary to lead up to that objective slowly in order to avoid unrest.

Funny part is, this was an easily predictable consequence of electing a white supremacist that goes on to berate Puerto Ricans and fail miserably to provide disaster aid. And I can say this with total confidence, because I and many other people predicted it.
