RIP Adam West

Ugh...that show meant more to me than anything as a kid. As I grew older I realized how extensive Adam West's acting career really was and he was by all accounts a serious sweetheart of a person. What a loss. *truly sad* :(

Batman the television show started when I was 5 years old and I remember being glued to the set those 2 nights a week. Of course, the camp style went over my head and I took it all as serious business. When I got older I fell in love with the show again. Adam West remains the 'real' Batman for me.

I feel the same. You said it.

As I've heard his family put it, he was the Bright Knight. Intellect and skill without the brooding, the fun Batman. Also the crazy mayor of Quahog. Oh, and he had the best of all the Batmobiles.
