I am so happy they are branching out from the force-centric main plot and showing other people and narratives. There has always been so much potential.

And FOREST WHITAKER IS IN IT!
 
Looks absolutely awesome. Probably going to be better than the Force Awakens.

And yes, Forrest Whitaker, FTW!
 
For the non-geeks, Rogue One tells the story about how the Death Star plans were acquired, so this is a story concurrent with or prior to the original trilogy.
 
I predict many Bothans will die in this movie.
 
That was for the third movie. It hasn't been established (in film) who stole the plans for the first death star.

Though with the Sesame Street Clip, I thought of 'This episode is brought to you by, the letters C and U, and many dead Bothans.'
 
Working title of the movie was "Star Wars: Yet Another Death Star".
 
Some fanboys are rolling their pubescent eyes and mumbling, "Another girl in the lead Star Wars movie? Are they all going to be like that now? How PC...blah blah blah..."

Well, it's a bit much asking them to come up with new ideas. They have something that works, so the only acceptable thing for them to do is to beat that idea to death until everybody is sick of it and then reboot it ten years later.

Not accurate at all.

This isn't another Death Star, but a pervious one, they're not going to blow it up, and many if not most of the characters will probably die trying to procure the plans for the Death Star.

Force Awakens was more of a copy of the original storyline, almost note for note: bad guys have big bad weapon, blow up big bad weapon, save the day.
