Ron Paul tweets racist cartoon, D'Souza retweets #BurntheJews

Funny.

Even if this excuse is valid, he seems to hire an awful lot of racists.

I can think of any number of reasons that such a large number of his aides would be so nakedly racist, and none of those explanations reflect very well on Paul.

That would be a good avatar.

You're not going to be offended and triggered that people are calling the image racist?

Amazing!

If you're thinking of applying for a job with him, remember that even if we grant your disputed premise of racism, he hires people who prefer liberty to your vision of alt-right big government. If we grant your disputed premise, your own opinions on race aren't enough to get you in.

They're generally careful to speak in code when non-sympathetic ears are listening.

Every once and awhile one of them slips up and hits the 'share' button to too broad an audience and the veneer peels back a bit.

I lived in two worlds when I was growing up in southern Virginia. There was my peer group at the parochial school where that I attended in the city. That was largely relatively progressive Catholics that focused on academics and community service; academics were the primary focus with a lot of bragging about college acceptances, AP college credits, and SAT/ACT scores. The town where I grew up was "south of the James" in peanut country. We were functionally segregated. There were a lot of private schools that were founded between 1965 and 1969. The public schools generally avoid teaching real biology. Some of the private schools were non-accredited because they actively taught YEC. Jeff Sessions is a reasonable facsimile for 90% of the old men from my home town. It was a striking difference for me to go to school with the city Catholics (and a lot of career military families) while having grown up in a stereotypical white Southern Baptist church.

Every once in a awhile I'll get copied on the chain emails the folks back home are passing around or it will slip into a facebook share. The folks back home haven't changed much. I read the same crap from them that I used to hear out in the woods coon hunting or working on old cars under the shade tree. I am not sure if they are fooling themselves or trying to fool the rest of the world when they act like this type of blatant racism is an anomaly when it peaks out from under a high profile rock. I see what they share among themselves since I still "pass" as one of them where I haven't been blocked or cut out of the loop for debunking their silly chain mails or criticizing their more offensive shares. They are good and two faced.

It seems that Ben Garrison, whose name is on the cartoon, was not the artist either. Whoever drew this cartoon forged Garrison's signature.

It is most likely drawn by "A. Wyatt Mann" who has very prolific. I would post some of his stuff but would probably be banned for it. Look him up, especially his television one.

I watched the D'Souza trailer. A rather incoherent mess that looks like he edited together clips from civil war movies, and christian end-times low budget films. The real scary thing was the comments section where the fans were declaring 'liberals are evil!', and 'D'Souza has never lost a debate'.

The comments leave me little hope for the future.

Here we have a nice example of demonization through identity.

The democrats....Can't handle the Truth.....They Hate The Constitution....Hate Free Speech....Hate the Middle Class....Hate the American Worker....Hate Christianity....etc....etc...etc.We. We the People...For the People...By the People. USA USA USA USA.

Here we have self contradictory unhinged othering and demonization. This guy says that the bigoted racists want open borders. Yeah, okay.

The already UNHINGED radical leftists will go bananas when this film is released, for they've pre-set their paths to violence, bigotry, racism, open borders, anti-law enforcement, and anti-Christian citizens. They will stop at NOTHING to stop our president's success in restoring America to traditional values and respect for our Constitution and our sovereignty.

Here we have someone who claims that the TRUE HISTORY of the Democratic Party was never taught in school. Her school must have stopped US History lessons at 1865. That or she paid no attention to anything historical or political until right wing propaganda "woke" her up.

I love learning the TRUE HISTORY of the Democrat party. Things we didn't learn in school and for sure are not being disclosed today. Reagan was right "If the left gets what it wants, it will never have the right to protest EVER again". Be careful what you wish for communists, if this ever became a communist country you will have given the govt the right to starve you and shoot you if you ever even THINK about protesting!!

Heartland Institute, Heritage Foundation, et al. have been very successful in their campaign.

So what's the deal with the little check mark next to the twitter name that you are posting as who you are yet twitter allows users to let other people post under that account?

The check mark shows that the account is verified as belonging to that person, rather than someone else unconnected to the person using a variation on their name. Twitter doesn't impose any restrictions on the owner being the only one able to use the account. Which makes sense for a business, or a celebrity who can't be expected to do all their own promotion themselves. Also how would Twitter be able to tell if you are letting someone else use your account?

I think if someone admits someone else is using their account, suspensions should be considered.

I'm sure that would be an effective way of preventing people from admitting it.

It would achieve nothing else, of course.

I think that unenforceable rules should be avoided in all circumstances.

Naa, there are valid reasons for having multiple people use an account. However, the account owner should be held accountable for any offensive content or posts that violate rules from anyone who uses it. Twitter's rules DO include removing the checkmark for violating rules, including promoting hate or harassment. I'd say that cartoon does violate the rule, so he should lose it.
