RussiaGate

Republicans can't sanction the EU, not without control of both houses of Congress, and neither can the Dems. They would have to work together, and guess what our Congress is currently incapable of doing. Therefor, you are incorrect to say that the US is sanctioning the EU over this. A handful of malevolent Republican Senators have introduced a bill, and they may even have Trump's backing, given that this would be a way for Trump to look tough on Russia without actually doing anything that is tough on Russia. That does not mean that the sanctions exist now, or that the sanctions being passed is a foregone conclusion.

They have already passed sanctions and SCROTUS aka russian agent signed it into a law. The ones Ted Cruz wetting himself about are additional ones, cause old ones were not enough to stall construction to the satisfaction of US frackers

Meanwhile EU bureaucrats officially responded and said they would come with a solution before the end of the year. Lets hope that includes banning Ted Cruz from travelling EU... indefinitely. I would have banned all congress members who voted for that crap. Chances are, US frackers are gonna pay for that shit, literally.

Please follow along with the argument being made, which is in regard to the letter sent by Cruz, et al.

If you would stop inserting irrelevancies into the argument, then it would be much easier for you.

'Antifa' website cited in conservative media attack on Biden is linked to — wait for it — Russia

WASHINGTON — At his press briefing Wednesday, President Trump, as he usually does, called for a question from Chanel Rion, the chief White House correspondent for the conservative One America News network, which has at times replaced Fox News as the president’s favorite news outlet. Rion’s question had nothing to do with COVID-19 or the economic recovery Trump had been boasting about, but instead brought up an obscure website, antifa.com.

“I wanted to highlight a kind of odd situation. In the last hour or so, if you googled ‘antifa.com,’ it would take you straight to Joe Biden’s website — his official campaign website — odd situation,” Rion said, adding, “We don’t know who’s behind that.”

Records for “antifa.com” in the domain name database Whoisology.com show the site was registered in the Russian Federation from 2013 through last July. Starting last November, the site’s registration was moved to Panama, The website has always been anonymously registered and its owners could not be reached for comment.

Some amazing reasoning there from OANN. I think I will go out and register Fascism.com and make it redirect to Trump's campaign site. That should be indisputable proof to OANN that Trump is a fascist.

Senate Report: Former Trump Aide Paul Manafort Shared Campaign Info With Russia

Former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort passed internal Trump campaign information to a Russian intelligence officer during the 2016 election, a new bipartisan Senate report concludes.

The findings draw a direct line between the president's former campaign chairman and Russian intelligence during the 2016 campaign.

Manafort, who was later convicted for financial fraud crimes, briefed Russian intelligence officer Konstantin Kilimnik on the campaign's polling data and how the Trump campaign sought to beat Hillary Clinton in the presidential election.

Manafort's connection with Kilimnik was a "grave counterintelligence threat," the report reads, adding that it found evidence the Russian intelligence officer may have been linked to the Russian government's efforts to hack and leak Democratic Party emails.

The findings are part of the Senate Intelligence Committee's fifth and final bipartisan report investigating Russian efforts to interfere in the 2016 election. This volume is primarily focused on counterintelligence threats and the wide range of Russian attempts to influence both the Trump campaign and the election.

As it turns out, there really was collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia

Just as Norman Eisen, former counsel for the House impeachment managers, detailed in his book “A Case for the American People: The United States v. Donald J. Trump,” the intelligence committee report suggests, according to The Post, that there was evidence Trump had lied about discussions concerning Roger Stone and the WikiLeaks release of stolen Democratic emails. “Collusion simply means Trump and those around him wrongly working together with Russia and its satellites, and the fact of that has long been apparent," Eisen told me. “Indeed, it was clear to anyone with eyes from the moment Trump asked, ‘Russia, if you’re listening.’ ” Eisen added, “The Senate report is a valuable contribution advancing our understanding, including explaining former Trump campaign chief Paul Manafort’s nexus to Russian intelligence. The report further elucidates our understanding of collusion via WikiLeaks, which acted as a Russian cut-out.”

In addition, the Trump Tower meeting on June 9, 2016, with Manafort and Donald Trump Jr. included Natalia Veselnitskaya, a Russian attorney and, according to the report “part of a broader influence operation targeting the United States that was coordinated, at least in part with elements of the Russian government.”

I think it is big news, and you think I'm "worried"?

Well, you linked to 9 articles regarding the exact same event, without providing any commentary or context whatsoever, what else was I supposed to take away from that?

That I think it is important news.

It is important news too.

And I didn't just link the same story over and over, I made sure to get sources from all over the "political spectrum". That way you can't say "oh that's just Fox" or "oh that's just CNN".

I didn't say you did link to the same story over and over again, I specifically noted that you posted 9 articles regarding the exact same event, and also pointed out the lack of commentary or context, leaving me to decide your point for myself.

That way you can't say "oh that's just Fox" or "oh that's just CNN".

Well, he pleaded guilty, so I'm not sure that there that there is going to be that much difference between Fox or CNN in how that is going to be presented, unless you want to talk about the consistency from the DoJ regarding how charges of lying to the FBI should be handled.

Justice Dept. Never Fully Examined Trump’s Ties to Russia, Ex-Officials Say - The New York Times

WASHINGTON — The Justice Department secretly took steps in 2017 to narrow the investigation into Russian election interference and any links to the Trump campaign, according to former law enforcement officials, keeping investigators from completing an examination of President Trump’s decades-long personal and business ties to Russia.

The special counsel who finished the investigation, Robert S. Mueller III, secured three dozen indictments and convictions of some top Trump advisers, and he produced a report that outlined Russia’s wide-ranging operations to help get Mr. Trump elected and the president’s efforts to impede the inquiry.

But law enforcement officials never fully investigated Mr. Trump’s own relationship with Russia, even though some career F.B.I. counterintelligence investigators thought his ties posed such a national security threat that they took the extraordinary step of opening an inquiry into them. Within days, the former deputy attorney general Rod J. Rosenstein curtailed the investigation without telling the bureau, all but ensuring it would go nowhere.

Vlad the Poisoner apparently served up one of his signature dishes for his most prominent domestic critic, Alexei Navalny: Novichok-infused tea. The idea of using Novichok made clear that the Russian state was behind it. So how did his fawning puppet in the White House react to it?

Speaking at a press event on Friday, he said he had yet to see evidence of poisoning in the case.

"So I don't know exactly what happened. I think it's tragic, it's terrible, it shouldn't happen. We haven't had any proof yet but I will take a look," he said.

He also stopped short of criticising Mr Putin and said Beijing posed a greater threat.

"It is interesting that everybody's always mentioning Russia and I don't mind you mentioning Russia but I think probably China at this point is a nation that you should be talking about much more so," he said.

What? Poison? My dear friend, Vlad? Wait! What's that over there? China! Lookit China!
