Republicans can't sanction the EU, not without control of both houses of Congress, and neither can the Dems. They would have to work together, and guess what our Congress is currently incapable of doing. Therefor, you are incorrect to say that the US is sanctioning the EU over this. A handful of malevolent Republican Senators have introduced a bill, and they may even have Trump's backing, given that this would be a way for Trump to look tough on Russia without actually doing anything that is tough on Russia. That does not mean that the sanctions exist now, or that the sanctions being passed is a foregone conclusion.
They have already passed sanctions and SCROTUS aka russian agent signed it into a law. The ones Ted Cruz wetting himself about are additional ones, cause old ones were not enough to stall construction to the satisfaction of US frackers
Meanwhile EU bureaucrats officially responded and said they would come with a solution before the end of the year. Lets hope that includes banning Ted Cruz from travelling EU... indefinitely. I would have banned all congress members who voted for that crap. Chances are, US frackers are gonna pay for that shit, literally.
Please follow along with the argument being made, which is in regard to the letter sent by Cruz, et al.
If you would stop inserting irrelevancies into the argument, then it would be much easier for you.
