Huh.

So where are all the Free Speech Warriors complaining about how this woman's freedom of speech has been viola[ent]hellip[/ent]

Oh.

That's right.

For Free Speech Warriors, freedom of speech only counts as freedom of speech when it's used to defend white supremacists, Nazis, and the like. Therefore, this doesn't count as a freedom of speech issue. Only people with certain opinions deserve freedom of speech, I guess. Although they keep throwing that word around, I'm not convinced they actually understand what the word freedom means.

I sincerely apologize for suggesting that everyone deserves freedom of speech, and not just people from approved groups expressing approved opinions. Please don't be sad.

- It's not an "oath". That's just Glenn Greenwald being Glenn Greenwald. It's a contract.
- Why should Texas (or any other state) be obligated to do business with contractors who support the antisemitic "kauft nicht bei Juden" BDS movement?
- Intercept is a far-left islamophilic rag. They are not trustworthy.

Yes. She is being forced to not protest against an oppressive state. Sick!
I do not think she wants to protest against Gaza, which is being run by an Islamic, theocratic terrorist organization and actually oppresses its population in addition to seeking to exterminate a neighboring country (i.e. Israel).

And note that she's not being asked to do anything, only refrain from doing certain things. There's nothing new about employers objecting to political activities by their employees.

She's being asked to refrain from refraining to do something. Even more doubly stupid and not at all justifiable.

Anyone who accepts this is a bootlicker of the highest order. This is a clear violation of freedom of speech. You cannot be forced to agree to monetarily support a political entity, or rather, to abstain from abstaining to monetarily support something.

This is a clear example of right-wing hypocrisy, and while the regressive left certainly has turned its back on free speech, that should not let anyone forget that the right has never really believe in free speech either. They are the original cry-babies.

But doesn't the contract mean things she says and acts when at the job? A company sure as hell must be able to control how it's employees express themselves when on the job.

Have not heard about this thing before. But apparently most states made BDS essentially illegal. So it may not even be up to the employer. So this may be a case of a movement being too successful for its own good.

It does look that way on a surface. But if you dig dipper then the argument can and have been made by many decent people that BDS is essentially antisemitic and fairly racist movement. So she is asked to to refrain from supporting it. But I agree, it's weird to ask that, but then that's what they legislated it seems. In Germany it's illegal to deny holocaust. So it's now illegal to simply be antisemitic :)

Nothing antisemitic in protesting decades of Palestinian oppression at the hands of a powerful government that has also been stealing land that whole time.

Nothing antisemitic about protesting crimes against humanity.

In the Israeli/Palestinian problem the Palestinians are an oppressed people, not Nazi's.

Nothing antisemitic in protesting decades of Palestinian oppression at the hands of a powerful government that has also been stealing land that whole time.
This is debatable. BDS was widely accused of being antisemitic.

Yes, that is the favorite tactic of people that have been oppressing and stealing from millions for decades.

Accuse anyone or anything that opposes their inhumanity as being antisemitic.

It's total hogwash.

There any many Jews living in Israel that are totally opposed to the actions of their government. They are a minority so they cannot get anything done. They are not antisemitic.

According to wiki Harry Potter is against BDS, so shut up with your tired mantra.

So the only possible reason that anyone could possibly have for objecting to Israeli imperialism is hatred of Jews?

It is a tactic.

It helped in South Africa.

Tactic without substance is having the opposite effect here.
