Some good ideas from Canada in response to the trade war

A guy with six bankruptcies and a history of inheriting hundreds of millions and losing it all, is put in charge of the world’s largest economy. What could possibly go wrong?

In his world, there's no such thing as a corner. He talks his way out of everything. The fallback positions are predictable:
> about that, I was only joking
> that was just locker room talk
> I was the victim, the process was weaponized against me
> that was something I heard on TV; you need to argue with the show
> the Democrats created that problem, don't look at me
> that was to let them know I was serious, and look how they respect us now
> they didn't fear Obama and Biden, but they fear me, don't you see it?
> only very stupid people say that
> want to hear about Arnold Palmer's tallywhacker??

Perhaps the Tesla threat worked because Trump backed down on the Canadian (and Mexican) tariff increases for now.
And he will bring them back. Then he will stop them again.

First it was 30,000 immigrants to Guantanamo. It was really 170. Now he's shutting the whole Guantanamo migrants deal down.

He's like living with a chihuahua.
I need to step in here and defend chihuahuas. For most of my life, I strongly disliked chihuahuas because as a child, the only ones I knew were yappy little things, annoying and unpleasant. But my son’s girlfriend had a lovely little chihuahua with an outsized personality and heart of a lion —and nary a yap. He was steady and reliable and warm and affectionate and quick to learn. I was shocked and came to love him very much, even more shocking. May he rest in peace.

Trump is more akin to a rabid hyena but far less appealing and far less intelligent and much more dangerous.

The people who used to live a couple houses down had a chi. It occasionally would get out and wander around. One day I was sitting on the front porch and the little bugger got out again. He came right up onto the porch and wanted attention. I picked him up ans sat him on my lap, petting, and he quickly fell asleep in this stranger's lap. Far from a typical chihuahua. Found out later someone stole the dog from them. Not surprised.

I think Canada and Mexico need to develop their own nuclear weapons. Both are technically able to do it. Canada could have them in a month or two probably, Mexico a little longer. Do the North Korea gameplan. We may not stop you from coming but it won't be worth it if you do.
At this point all modern powers should develop their own bombs and second strike capability. The Felon has shat on the whole basis for the NPT. I do not remotely like the prospect of a whole bunch of fingers on the button, but I consider that the lesser evil at this point.

And note that second strike doesn't need to be a full out nuclear laydown. A dozen stealthy torpedoes would do it. I don't think the Russian nuclear torpedo would work--yeah, there's nothing in the water that can catch it but it's noisy as fuck and could be depth charged.
