Something happened in Turkey: Why has no one posted about it?

 
 
 
But since you started it.
People noticed that it happened on the next day or so after Erdogan appologized for shooting down russian jet last Fall. ISIS really does not want tourism business resumed in Turkey.
 
Richard Engel reported a couple of weeks ago that Isis had specifically sent over 30 fighters to Turkey to make a big splash during Ramadan. Seems it has come to pass, and there may be more. It seems like Isis is trying to destabilize Turkey as a route for many of it's fighters to get through to the caliphate and also to tip them over from officially secular to theocracy.

I am becoming quite numb to terrorists' attacks.

What is there left to say?

  • Killing random people is bad.
  • Killing people is bad.
  • Bombs don't kill people, people kill people.
  • W./Obama/Clinton/Reagan/etc. is to blame.
  • Turkey brought it on themselves because [provide any number of possible and improbable explanations.]
  • Obama wouldn't say the magic words "radical Islam" that will stop the terrorism
  • No one will blame fundamentalism in religion for the terrorism.
  • No one will blame religion for the terrorism.
  • Keep Calm and Carry On.

Are you saying that people who don't care as much about what goes on in distant places to people they don't know, and that doesn't affect their lives is somehow a uniquely American thing?

Are the French spilling tears as if it'd happened in Paris? Is the UK grieving in the streets as if it'd happened in London? Russians in Moscow? Japanese in Tokyo?

Do you go into a personal grief cycle when you hear about someone you don't know being murdered just 20 miles from you?

I was actually looking for a thread about it yesterday, but didn't have time to start one.

I'd say "thank you" for doing so, but the finger-wagging, American-bashing tone the thread has taken means this one isn't about the bombings in Turkey either. :shrug:

It's muslims killing other muslims in a muslim majority country. It's not particularly interesting to be honest.
 
We're warned not to shoot armed or unarmed burglars in the back while moving away from us, yet I bet the officer who shot the bomber from the rear won't be brought up on charges.
