Perhaps not always, but this stuff was coming to the fore on social media before Trump - and in fact it's what set the stage for him. The Trump Effect certainly has provided quite a feedback loop to embolden these idiots though.

Another example of a clown/asshole is this guy: Bradlee Dean has been roaming around since at least 2011, and his ‘article’ on Barbwire is run by Matt Barber, who has been making noise since at least 2008.
