I'm sharing another article about how the MAGAs are considering decreasing M'caid, SNAP etc. to help pay for the tax breaks they want to extend. It boggles the mind how many Christians supported Trump and company. Did they forget what their good book says about how difficult it would be for a rich man to enter heaven? Did they ignore the parts about helping the poor and welcoming the stranger and turning the other cheek? I'm talking about the MAGA Christians not all Christians. I guess some Republicans are worried about losing their voters, many of whom depend on these programs. It's sickening.

Trump allies eye overhauling Medicaid, food stamps in tax legislation

Republican leaders, looking for ways to offset the cost of lower taxes, are considering changes to safety net programs for the poor.

President-elect Donald Trump’s economic advisers and congressional Republicans have begun preliminary discussions about making significant changes to Medicaid, food stamps and other federal safety net programs to offset the enormous cost of extending Trump’s 2017 tax cuts next year.

Among the options under discussion by GOP lawmakers and aides are new work requirements and spending caps for the programs, according to seven people familiar with the talks, many of whom spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly. Those conversations have included some economic officials on Trump’s transition team, the people said.

However, concern is high among some Republicans about the political downsides of such cuts, which would affect programs that provide support for at least 70 million low-income Americans, and some people familiar with the talks stressed that discussions are preliminary.

I saw that this morning. The GOP is at a crossroads. Do they go all in on finishing off the beast's starvation or do that act, at least in some minimalistic way, pragmatically election wise, if not from a humanitarian (or dare I say "pro-life") direction?

The GOP continues to disappoint at every damn step. It was just three votes that stopped ACA from being axed. And again, we would need to be looking to four GOP'ers to be pragmatic... to stop this. I don't think anyone else will because of the potential sense of harm. The GOP might see this as a time to finally kill these programs and reduce the awful burden on the wealthy.

With Russia being our friend, we can let our military go to corruption. This will put a few hundred billion more into our oligarchs’ pockets every year. The Russia model is where we are headed, obviously.

Soon every mega billionaire will have their own army of North Koreans, and Kim will be the richest person on earth.
