Cory Booker takes a break from being one of the smoothest operators in politics and Rand Paul take a break from being a jackass, I mean, Rand Paul and instead of reading their own press and practicing being legends in their own minds, they have decided to do something quite extraordinary, the jobs we elected them for.

Very nice. Now imagine what could have been accomplished if the entire republican party had gone for trying to get some things done instead of being constant obstructionists.

Given their respective politics, it doesn't surprise me at all that these two agree on this issue; and what they've outlined seems to me to be eminently reasonable... which means the majority of Republicans won't agree.

This in particular will kill it:

The legislation also creates a path for adults with nonviolent offenses to seal their criminal records and restores food stamp and welfare benefits for low-level drug offenders who have served their sentences.

No way will some of those Republicans agree to anything allowing another poor perspn get foodstamps or welfare
