Well, in that case Great Britain (and Australia) still have not abolished it yet, constitutional feudalism that isFeudalism happens amongst the minor nobles.
Serfdom happens to the lowly farm hands.
The latter was abolished in Russia in 1861. The former wasn't abolished in Russia until 1917.![]()
The UK still has it, although significantly watered down by reform of the House of Lords in 1999, which dramatically reduced the influence of hereditary peers.
Australia never had a feudal system; it was set up as a prison rather than as a nation, and moved from there directly to a federal system. The difference is largely one of communication - in the Middle Ages it was necessary to have a local Lord in every town, because there was no mechanism for centralised decision making. By the time that Australia became a nation, the telegraph (amongst other technologies) had made feudal structures irrelevant.
