The "tolerant left" brutally attacks loving father

National Socialist German Workers Party. 'nuff said!

:rotfl:

NSDAP had some undeniably socialist elements, even though they were opposed to Marxists/Communists.

You should read the ebook at the link in my sig if you want to be able to recognize the "elements" of truly depraved ideology and why they inevitably arise in large groups as blind social dominance machines that bring about atrocity if left unchecked. The book is about research, not opinions.

(The book also explains why certain people predictably will not read it past the first sentence. It's for the curious, not the fearful seeking confirmation.)

Heh. Yeah, that's one of the dumber arguments in an arsenal of dumb arguments used by fascists conservatives and libertarians. :D

Did Nazi officers always have a Christian cross on their uniform?

In various places on various uniforms, yes. They even had a belt buckle that said "God is with us."

See, it’s things like this which invalidate the objections to the “Punch a Nazi Today” movement.

Republican or Moderate Democrat: You punched him before he finished talking! What if he had a really good argument for killing all the Jews? Did you stop and consider that before you so rudely interrupted him? Why are you so violent and rude? Why can't you be more like the Nazi? Oh look, the Nazi is driving a car into a crowd of people, but you're still the bad guy here because you punched someone! [/lampoon]

Isn't everyone else a Nazi, according to libertarians? Your response is kind of predictable.

No. We see a lot of Authoritarians and Statists, but unlike progressives we don't define all our opponents as Nazis.

Generally we're accused of calling everyone Communists.

You know who else accused a lot of their opponents of being communists? The Nazis, that’s who.

Granted, a big reason for that was because the Nazis were at war with a large communist country, so it was a fairly accurate accusation much of the time, but still ... it’s what the Nazis did.

My gramps dropped bombs on people dressed like that.
Yeah, mine got a Bronze Star at the Battle of the Bulge. Guess what he was doing to Nazis? :)

My grandfather also murdered Nazis. Decades later, the family still hasn't recovered from the shame of having this violent sociopath be one of our ancestors.

Violence against enemy soldiers in a war is not the same thing as violence against civilians because you label them "Nazis" because you don't like them or because they cosplay.

Remember, conservatives are snowflakes, so criticizing a conservative is the same thing as taking away his free speech rights!

He's not indoctrinating his children, he is simply celebrating an important part of our history, so if you have a problem with this, not only do you hate free speech, but you also hate history! You are a bad person, and you should feel bad, you "tolerant left" people! [/conservolibertarian]

I actually support him in this, because Hitler has replaced the Devil in modern myth-building. The symbol of Hitler has replaced the Devil completely. There's nothing that terrifies people as wearing Nazi uniforms... and isn't that what Halloween is all about?

I also commend him getting most of the details right on the uniform. He's missing his Nazi party badge, but otherwise, nice attention to detail.

He even got his son's Hitler suit down to every detail.

Sharing tea and scones? Maybe enjoying a Christmas Day football game? :P
The story about what he actually got the Bronze Star for is actually pretty amusing. But he never talked about it.

He spent enough time over there that he saw what the Nazis did and were capable of. The modern Nazis are not all that different, just less organized. See Charlottesville and other similar incidences for evidence of this. That's what bugs me about JP some of the other who whine about calling actual modern nazis out. They can complain all they want about the term being over used, and it may be, but that doesn't mean that much of the time, it isn't 100% legit to call these murderous psychopaths nazis. They are, and all they need is the right push, or imagined authority, to attempt the same thing.
