But drugs ARE one of the justifications Trump keeps throwing out there, that this wall is crucial to stop illegals, drugs, terrorists from being a Problem.
He's trying to make us believe that the Wall will solve all these issues.

Correct. Trump is touting the wall as the solution to all of these when, in reality, it would have minimal effect on any. It's an ineffective vanity project which has its justifications supported by nothing except lies.
 
It's a sad situation that the people we elected to govern are not governing. The games are over, they won their respective elections. Hooray. Pop some corks. Hire some strippers. Celebrate. Now it's time to govern. Compromise if you have to but the games are over so stop thinking they're not. Both sides in this clownfest need to take smart pills. Otherwise Trumpo's only recourse in this fake crisis is to declare his fake national emergency. He wants his idiotic wall but the dems want substantial things. Take advantage!

BTW if you read the entire link I provided it also talks about the majority of drugs entering through legal ports of entry primarily.

Perhaps vanity is one word to use. But it goes way beyond. He promised this wall to his racist fans. All he wants is to keep his fans happy and to appear a "winner".

He doesn't give two shits about the destruction along the way. Hundreds of thousands of people not being paid, many more people not getting government services that those hundreds of thousands serve, from SMB loans to travel safety, stretching to the breaking point the rule of law with talk of declaring a national emergency where none exists and talking of using money from hurricane relief funds from Texas and Puerto Rico.

His vanity is causing serious harm across the map and he doesn't give two shits. He even talked about using the money that these 800K government workers should have been paid to paying for part of his useless wall.

He also promised his fans that the cost to the US taxpayers would be zero because Mexico would pay for it. It's not even keeping a campaign promise at this point. It's that he doesn't want to be seen as having a loss and he want to play hardball with a group of people who are tougher and more popular than him.

This isn't a "both sides" issue. McConnell and the entire Senate voted to approve the House passed funding bill in December. McConnell is giving the Republican President cover so the veto doesn't become an electoral threat to them in 2020. McConnell's obstruction (oddly as a majority leader now) is unprecedented in American history.

We are about to walk right into a recession when the Chinese trading tariffs come back because they aren't giving Trump what he wants and the Democrats aren't falling on their sword over a stupid fucking wall.

What are you talking about? The DEA report I linked to for you breaks down many different types of drugs and the data for cocaine transportation and the like into the US is the same as for heroin.

Then quote it. Heroin much less popular drug than cocaine and most heroin is from Afghanistan this affects the way it's trafficked.

Can they? The GOP has to sign off on it in the Senate... and the problem becomes that the Senate won't want to give in to any demands so that Trump can have his wall.

You don't seem to be reading the tea leaves right. The Dems can't negotiate with Trump because Trump can't promise anything. The Dems can't negotiate with the GOP because they don't want the damn wall either.

An American President actually gave a speech with a line that is that obtuse????? Nobody scanned it, or dared to tell him that it was stupidly phrased?

But, if they deal now, even for major concessions, then that will be a loss. They were sent to DC to stand up to Trump. They have more of a mandate for this than he has for the Wall.

But he still needs the Wall. So, if the GOP caves, Dems win the stand-off, THEN they can start to dicker in earnest for the Wall.
And if Trump doesn't like the next deal, he cannot threaten another shutdown... That would probably be the biggest won, taking shutdowns away from the godking.
